Or Frost* are pretty much flawless in my eyes, but they don't seem to provoke that reaction from everyone.

Good man.
![]() Milliontown's the better of their two albums, for my money, but it depends what you're after. Experiments In Mass Appeal is fairly decent as well, so it probably doesn't matter. And I've no idea what Carpark North are, but I'm a song and a half in and already intrigued.

Re: Prog rock, anyone?
Hmm...can Circa Survive and As Cities Burn be considered progressive?

Re: Prog rock, anyone?
Why has Rush not been mentioned yet? That is so very disappointing.
I could be wrong, but aren't Genesis and Tool also considered Progressive?

Re: Prog rock, anyone?
I'd have said Genesis practically invented the genre. I can never quite make up my mind about them- they're great musicians, but sometimes it seems like they get so caught up in how good they are they forget to keep a song compelling and interesting. You can say that about a lot of prog bands, though, I guess.

As Cities Burn has changed their styles over the years and in their final album, they have a really unique sound. Listen to 84 Sheepdog on YouTube and you'll see what I mean.

Re: Prog rock, anyone?
Wow, that could really grow on me. There's shades of Radiohead in that, but you're right, it's very much their own sound. A really interesting mix of stuff. They're a band to look further into, I think...

Dark Side of the Moon is one of the greatest albums of all time. You are referring to Pink Floyd right?

Re: Prog rock, anyone?
Rx Bandits later material has some prog going on, and it is f-ing rad as hell.
Also, The Mars Volta. That and Rush is about as far into prog rock I go. I do also listen to some progressive reggae and progressive bluegrass, though! |

By the way, they're one of those screaming bands. They're apparently a Christian band also. I really didn't know that when I started listening to them like 3 years ago..... ![]()
