Ween

WEEN

All hail!

Ween is undeniably my favorite group of all time - and I've even gone so far to try and top them. I'm sure just about every other fan of Ween out there can say the same. What genre are they? Who knows. What do you mean? Captain Fantasy.

Ween started as the dynamic duo of Aaron Freeman (Gene Ween) and Mickey Melchiondo (Dean Ween) in 1984. They've since evolved into many forms like Charizard and a full five-person band, but the two remain the heart and soul of this Godsend of a band. Please do yourselves all a favor and submit your mind to the inevitable corruption that is Ween.

Re: Ween

Huh. The vocalist is very odd, indeed.

Their level of nonsense reminds me of Beck, which is a very good thing.

Think I may look into these guys in the future, but to be honest, it's kind of hit-and-miss.

Ween has often been associated with Beck, especially in the past. They played together numerous times, and so consequently, a large number of Ween fans like Beck too. I like a bit of Beck's work, some stuff here and there: Odelay, Mellow Gold - good stuff, but he's a bit hit-or-miss also. Ween is definitely a band that'll either drive you away indefinitely, or hook you forever.

I saw them a couple years ago and it was the best experience of all time. Played 30 songs over the course of three hours.
