Jay-Z -- Blueprint 3

So, guys, in about 2 months Jay-Z's new album Blueprint 3 will be out. So far, 2 singles have been release for the album. D.O.A. (Death of Autotune) and Run This Town. Run This Town features Rihanna and Kanye West (Both of which I'm a fan of) so I was already expecting something good. And I got what was coming to me. It was a really good song. D.O.A was produced by Kanye West and it's one of the greatest rap songs I've ever heard.

Blueprint 3 is looking like it could be Jay-Z's best album. I. Can't. Wait.

Right, so this was because Forte says he doesn't like himself. I want him to like himself a bit more.

Speaking of Jay-Z, I just started listening to DJ Dangermouse's Grey Album; a mix of the Beatles' White Album, and Jay-Z's Black Album.

I'm digging it, but nothing will top Reasonable Doubt. That album was a god damn classic, and nothing he's done ever since comes close. But still, I'll definitely give this a listen.

Re: Jay-Z -- Blueprint 3

All things considered (ie Kingdom Come), I'm cautious about this release, if nothing else. I remember back when Jay-Z releases were events. There was hype and lead-up and anticipation out the wazoo. Then Kingdom comes along, and its supposed to be this big 'coming out of retirement' album, and it...doesn't really live up to expectation. It's got some solid tracks on it, but overall it just seems like a strained and unnatural affair.

Jay is still probably one of the best of the 'superstar' rappers out there, but he needs to tap into some of his older magic that made him so special for pretty much every other record he's put out. I just don't know if he can do that anymore.

I was most likely a little kid and wouldn't really know. I didn't start listening to him until I was a teeeenager. But most of his old albums are much better. I find myself listening to Blueprint more than the others. His first one is also great. Hell, practically every album of his is, but I'unno. I think D.O.A. is what started hyping me. I adore that song.

I'm looking forward to it. Death of Autotune is an awesome song.

D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune) is a great song and has an important message. "Run This Town" is even better and after two amazing tracks leaked, I can safely say this is going to be an album to look forward to.

Re: Jay-Z -- Blueprint 3

I'm not a big fan of Jay Z. I like mostly the Kanye produced tracks of his. But I might hear his new album if his singles are so good.

BTW. Is death of autotune produced by Kanye? If so what does he think of it after his last album?

Yes Kanye produced D.O.A. It was practically his idea (the song, I mean.) I don't understand the last question.

EDIT: I understand now. He doesn't mind. Jay-Z admitted he's no problems with T-Pain (he was the one who got it famous, after all) or Lil Wayne (I dun like Wayne) or West (and why would he? West established himself way before ever using autotune.

I thought maybe kanye wouldn't agree with the song or something.

I wonder if his next album will be like the first three.

No he practically came up with the idea and produced it (and made it sound as real as possible, using real drums, guitar, etc. It's a fantastic rap song, really.)

I didn't know a 5th album from Ye was coming. I hope it's like Graduation. That's my favorite album of his.
