Big four of thrash?

Dragonforce is dumb*** metal. I hate that stupid band so much.

Megadeth is my favorite band, Dave can really SHRED on his guitar, like on the Mechanix and Holy Wars solos. here is my view of it:
1. Megadeth(the best)
2. Slayer(the heaviest)
3. Anthrax(dont really know them, love Madhouse though)
4. Metallica(too overated)

These "big four" are all overrated.

I don't really care how overrated they are. If the music sounds good, I like it.

megadeth, hands down, all their albums except Risk are awesome(yes, even Cryptic Writings) and Dave is a pretty good singer.

the order, and best song:

Megadeth(Reckoning Day/Good Mourning Black Friday)
Anthrax(Keep it in the Family)
Slayer(Mandatory Suicide)
Metallica(Ronnie...nah, just kidding, Blackened)

Though if they were called the big five Testament would be aming them, Chuck is so awesome

Master of Puppets is a pretty great album.

Can't say I really care for the genre, though.

He makes a good point. I never hear anyone talk about any of these bands.

"Overrated" and "well-known" aren't necessarily the same thing.

I suppose so.

But I have a hard time finding Metallica as overrated seeing as how everybody hates everything they do since 92.

Even new people that listen to the new metal like slipknot,tool, etc. don't even like 80's metal like the big four they think it sucks. Also if were going by overrated Metallica wins by a land slide.

Metallica is overrated because there are so many bands out there that are just as good as them, if not better. Yes, even back in the 80's. The problem is people never get a good chance to hear bands like this and they get lost in the shuffle. It sucks, but that's the way the music business works.

For my money, By Inheritence is still the best thrash album I've ever heard.

Out of that big four (i still contest that Testament is legitimently one of them) Megadeth takes the cake. So many good records.

Some people must still like what they do. They're doing 6 consecutive shows in Copenhagen this month and they're all sold out. The venue can hold 10,000 people.

Lots of people love them. No doubt. But i think that they have the most amount of people who hate them too. (out of these "big four")

I would put many of those bands (Kreator in particular) on the top. Poor Exodus. The quality of that band has been severly dwindling lately. Rob Dukes is no good for that band. D:

I like Taylor Swift. I try to listen to everything except for Southern Gospel *shudders*

Back on topic: You're right. Today, nobody except smart people like us know how to listen to anything that's older than us.

I had to say something. Some kids came to the door this morning selling stuff and they looked about 15 years old. One of them asked me (rather randomly) if i was wearing a Megadeth shirt. I said no, it was Iced Earth.

Point: Not all kids dont know about Megadeth and stuff like that. I see loads of kids running around with Motorhead and Iron Maiden shirts. I would assume they listen to said bands. (of course thats kind of going off topic.)

I'm sure they do, since they're the most well-known of the four. Also, they did make one of the most horrible metal albums in history.
