I just still can't believe they still keep on going!
I liked their last album though! The unforvigen songs need to stop to tell you the truth. I liked them all but it needs to stop.

Re: Classic Rock

@Snow_Storm: About two years ago, Guns n Roses and Aerosmith came to my town about 4 days apart from each other and I never got to see them. Needless to say I was a sad panda.

Classic Rock is my favorite genre. But it is a rather broad genre for music I feel because I enjoy all kinds of rock from the 60s to the 80s.

Right now i'm in a Chilliwack, Honeymoon Suite, Prism, & Journey phase. I was hardcore into the Doors and Rush about a month ago. But all in all, Bon Jovi will always be my favorite.

Well that's more like "Rock & Roll". eventually the "& Roll" got chopped off, and it was just called Rock. So when I hear "rock and roll" I think Chuck berry, Elvis, Little Richard, etc... and when I hear "rock" i think zeppelin, etc.

Re: Classic Rock

Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Bon Jovi (Would some of his stuff be...?) etc. etc.

I'm a sucker for it, because my dad started me off on classic rock from age 2 - 6 then at age 7 I was introduced to metal and different genres.

But yeah, I LOVE classic rock... Actually, to tell the truth, my alarm clock is set to turn on the CD Led Zeppelin IV So the first words I hear are "Hey hey mama, said the way you move, gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove!"

Re: Classic Rock

Classic Rock is awesome. The Who, Jimmy Hendrix, all those guys are awesome.

Baba O' Riley by The Who blows my mind still to this day. The beat is so good and the drum line after Pete Townsend's vocal line is awesome. I love that part. Also Tom Petty has some really good music as well. Don't come around here no more is one of my favorites. And then of course the Beatles, Get Back and Day Tripper are awesome.

There are just so many songs I can't really list them all.

Listen to "I Can See For Miles" but just focus on the drums. I did that for the first time a few weeks ago, and its mindblowing how Keith Moon could pull stuff off that nobody was doing at the time.

I forgot about Tom Petty! Loves me some Heartbreakers. I also somehow forgot Simon & Garfunkel (though more folk than rock, they are usually included within the era...which for the record I don't usually count into the 80s unless the bands started out in the 60s or 70s), for which I am going to flog myself.

Okay guess that makes sense but in the end classic rock is not really a genre but more of a time period in rock's musical history. So by your way of putting classic rock, AC/DC were from the era of 'classic rock' so were Led Zeppelin but they usually called themselves Rock 'n' Roll. People I know say Guns 'n' Roses are classic rock. I dont think so. Classic rock is more late 60's to the late 70's.

And for the record Metallica are prob not classic for anyone saying that. Regardless there a good band

no you are right, they are thrash metal and not classic rock. Classic rock really seems like such an improper term. Classical music is like, 300 years old, but we think that if somethings 20 or 30 years old it deserves the name classic? not at all.

You're applying similar meanings for two words that don't refer to the same thing. Classical Music isn't called Classical because its been around for a long time. It has more to do with its status.

Classic Rock is uses the term 'classic' in much the same way it is used in the phrase 'Cult Classic.' It's more of a pop culture term than anything. 'Classic' can refer to age, but in the case of Classic Rock that is only a part of its meaning.

Re: Classic Rock

I'd estimate that 40% of my library is from the late 60's and 70's, 40% is from the 90's, with the other 20% being from the 80's and this decade. So yeah.

AC/DC is one of my favorite bands, and they're one of the first I heard. I've liked just about every classic rock band I've heard. While I was out on vacation I heard some songs by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, so I think they're the next classic rock band I'll be checking out.

Re: Classic Rock

Oi, my list would go on and on, so I will only list some:
The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Foreigner, Journey, Queen, Aerosmith, some stones is good, some who is good, The Moody Blues, Styx, Rush, Kansas, Wings, Super Tramp, America, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Heart, Steely Dan, Chicago, Boston, Alcatraz, The Scorpions, Saxon, The Eagles, The Guess Who, Jefferson Airplane, uh yeah this could go on forever...
I'll just stop there lol.
But classic rock is probably my favorite kind of music. I grew up on it ^^
