Do people still buy CDs?

I still buy cds from bands I'm really into. I wouldn't mind if the cover isn't worth having, I'll keep it anyways, & I only care if the cd still works. And when I try to find a certain song on the internet from a band, it's never out for download. So, I'll get a cd instead.

i ALWAYS buy CDs, i've downloaded one album from itunes, and i don't feel like i own it.

nothing like the smell of a fresh booklet and the first go in the CD player. i'm not a vinyl guy, but i have a few, if it's in mint condition the sound is better than cd.
no pirating for me, i like to support the people who bring me great music.(if i pirate, Lars Ulrich will have to wait another month for his golden shark tank go watch south park christian rock hard )

I buy CD's all the time. Nothing beats having the CD in your hand, looking at the album cover and reading through the Lyric booklet thing. (forgive me I forget what its called <.<) **** buying from itunes.

I do if I cannot find the music I am looking for in .flac

I am a record and occasional cd kind of person.
i have many songs pirated on my computer as well.
I plan for the future to by more vynil oriented for i feel it is the best format of music. What is important though is the music, i think, not the ownership of the music. As long as i can hear it i am good. How i own it does not really matter to me. If it is truly something i like i remember the great ones.

I still buy CDs. I like the idea of physically owning something. Plus if my computer crashes, i'll still have my Cds. But I download as well.

I still buy CDs from this local place a 1/2 mile away from my house. I usually buy used CDs(which are usually $5-10) or really cheap new CDs($12 and under). Didnt really buy CDs on a regular basis until a couple summers ago.

Yes, i still buy CD's. It's something about owning a hard copy of the music that you love.

I would definitely buy CDs if there were CD stores where I live.

It's such a shame and a torment that these stores don't get the support they deserve. The ones that exist only have the likes of Shakira Unplugged, Lady Gaga's The Fame and Enrique Iglesias 'latest CD'. It's really a shame, even more so when I have an interest in music more in the underground side.

Well, I just hope my new laptop will be strong enough to stand the heavy downloading that will be taking place.

Unfortunately I do not have enough money to buy all the actual CDs of every band in my ipod. However I do buy 3 or 4 CDs every month.

I usually download one or two songs off of a CD I might be interested in, and if I really love it, I'll get it. That makes it sound like I'm picky. :p I have hundreds... Probably too many.

If I love a band enough, I definitely will. Even if I have all of the songs beforehand from another source I'll still get the CD.

I still buy CDs; call me old fashion but whatever. I like to actually own a copy of the music, rather than just having it all on a computer or iPod, where it could all be deleted fairly easily. It would be thousands of dollars wasted if all my music were downloaded and I lost it due to some stupid accident. Plus I really enjoy CD artwork. I wish all of the CD stores could stay in business.

I will answer the question with this: I just bought a CD today.

i love buying cds, but the current cough, financial climate has disallowed me from doing so as frequently as i used to.
but i much prefer buying cds to downloading or borrowing etc.
actully, can't we all just go back to vinyl?
