What Songs are you Obsessed With 2: Electric Boogaloo
Now with more stickiness!
Since the first thread is nearing close to 3000 posts and is getting on in age, yet is still the most active thread this section has likely ever seen, I think having a new one sticked isn't the worst idea ever. This thread is where you can post songs that you are listening to an awful lot. The ones that get stuck in your head and you end up playing them ten times a day until the people around just want you to shut off that awful din. But we’d love to hear all about them, so please, share! NOTE: This is not a “Now Playing” thread. As such, posting multiple songs over the course of one day isn’t really encouraged. Also, this means that simply stating the track name and artists isn’t going to cut it. Try to at least say a few words as to why you are currently enjoying that particular track. Posts that consist only of the artist and song name will be deleted. Posting comments on the tracks others post is encouraged! |

I'm pretty sure I may have mentioned it before, but "Through the Roof 'n' Underground" by Gogol Bordello is simply amazing. It's got the fun and crazy of gypsy punk, of course, but a nice acoustic-folksy quality to it that is hypnotic.
Everyone in the world should listen to it. |

Right now, I am most obsessed with Rachmaninovs 2nd Piano Concerto (one of the best Piano Concertos I've ever heard) and Riddle of Steel (great symphony, used in "Conan the Barbarian").

Rihanna - Disturbia
I'm no big Rihanna fan, or a fan of her type of music in general but this song is just addictive. |

Kim Mitchell's "Go for Soda." I saw him open for Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings last week, and he was awesome (though I should have expected it, my dad loves him as well as the work he did with Max Webster, and for good reason). He closed with this damn catchy song.
Also, since I just got three new albums yesterday, I predict some Less Than Jake, Great Big Sea, and White Stripes will be hitting this thread at some point. |

Icky Thump didn't do much for me.
Cibo Matto - "Clouds" Oh, how very yes. I'm just so annoyed that this album (and Viva la Woman) are so hard to get a hold of nowadays. I positively love this, Sugar Water, and Sci-fi Wasabi. Utter awesomeness. |

Cmere - Interpol
I have to admit, I didn't care much for this band at first, but they're really starting to grow one me. ![]()

BETTER BELIEVE IT!
I think I might want to marry Jack White. I don't know how one man can be so consistantly brilliant. |

Love that song. One of my buddies turned me on to it a few days ago. Until then I had just kind of shook Weezer off as mediocre.
Tuesday's Gone by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Skynyrd's coming to concert around here pretty soon so I'm trying to get in the mood by listening to some older-than-my-usual-listen tunes. If this song doesn't provoke some emotions in you to stir you are soulless. And if it doesn't make you think of Happy Gilmore then you are not a real man. |

"My Body is a Cage" by Arcade Fire.
I want to go into a poorly lit, dank little bar in some basement, and drink with the instrumental breakdown (2:50 of the video). Win Butler's voice and the background vocals can play pool in the background. Seriously, though, that breakdown kills everything there ever was. |

"Don't Trust Me" - 3OH!3
This highly energetic song has rap style, electronic sounds and a rock feel and it's simply amazing to say the least. This small known band deserves a little more knowledge because they are a sweet new sound which should be enjoyed by new listeners or people who like any of the genres it relates to. :3 |
