Faith No More - Anne's Song
Awesome funky little song. Probably the best of Faith No More's "Mosely Era" Also Crack Hitler and Jizzlobber by the same band. Hell, I just love Faith No More.

"Mouths Like Sidewinder Missiles" by The Fall of Troy. (Cleaner version of the original, also I'm not sure how they spelled "Missles" in the title because every source I look at has a different misspelling)
This song showcases half the emotional spectrum. I really love music that sounds like the artist gave a crap about it and poured themselves into the music. This song is excellent and the second half of it makes me feel really good. Also, I might as well mention that "We Better Learn to Hotwire a Uterus" from the same album (Doppelganger) has an amazing guitar intro, although the rest of the song tends to be a little too screamo for my taste. |

Re: What Songs are you Obsessed With 2: Electric Boogaloo
"Fast Car" by Wyclef Jean. This song completely contradicts everyone who says hip-hop is a talentless genre/isn't 'real music'/everything else. It helps that Paul Simon guests on it, but goddamn is it ever good.
"When that fast car picks you up / you will weep and smile and see / heaven in the headlights / mile after mile after mile after mile //" |

Creeper, by Islands. I really like the guitar. The singer is the same guy from The Unicorns. A musical genius.

I just bought "You Are There" by Mono a few days ago. Pretty great, especially Yearning and Moonlight. I am going to check out World's End Girlfriend as I they're very similar(they collaborated on an album and everything >; D). Right now I'm listening to The Good, The Bad and The Queen by The Good, The Bad and The Queen from The Good, The Bad and The Queen. Great album. |

Is it generally accepted that the band takes the name of the album? I initially heard that the band didn't have a name.

Maybe when they stop being dumb and make a second album we'll get a proper name : |. |

Re: What Songs are you Obsessed With 2: Electric Boogaloo
I haven't listened to them yet, but I generally take notice when a band has an odd or interesting name. In this case, no name at all. Same goes for a band like !!! or Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly.

The Mountain Goats - This Year
I've been trying to find The Cribs' first album for sometime now online, but can't find the torrent anywhere. These guys came up on some indie compilation. This is a catchy song, so I've been spinning it for about an hour or so.

The Moody Blues - Legend of a Mind
Brilliant use of chordal harmony and movement. The Mellotron is positively heavenly. One of the best cuts of one of the best albums ever recorded.

"Free Radicals (A Hallucination of the Christmas Skeleton Pleading with a Suicide Bomber)" by The Flaming Lips. It's from At War with the Mystics, half the songs on the album are my favourite Flaming Lips songs but it's a really inconsistent album, Yoshimi and The Soft Bulliten are probably both better overall.
Also, they forgot how to name songs on this album, you don't need a song name that long. |
