Re: What Songs are you Obsessed With 2: Electric Boogaloo

So after hearing the absolutely stellar Ambling Alps (available for free on their website!!!) I got Yeasayer's first album.

Really digging it, especially 2080.

Re: What Songs are you Obsessed With 2: Electric Boogaloo

The song/piece name is much too long for me to write it all out, so here you go, have a YouTube clip of it!

I bought an entire case of classical music.. of uh, classics, for like ten bucks. It's amazing what good music you can find for such cheap prices. This one is one of my favourite pieces from the second disc that came with the case. I ripped it unto my Xbox, and I listen to it in the background as I kill people!

Some other good pieces I like.. and hopefully can find...

This one is slightly different than the version on the disc.

MMMmmmm. Try Chopin's ninth opus number 2, his famous Nocturne in E flat major. Top fifteen favorite songs of all time for me. Or the Fantasie Impromptu, Opus 66. Or the heroic polonaise, opus 53, in a flat major. Or the ballade in G minor, opus 23 number 1. Arthur Rubinstein is a fantastic pianist, one of the greatest of his generation, and plays Chopin's works like they were meant to be played, truly. My father who educates me in most of this stuff says that Horowitz can't compare because he plays it technically sound but it tends to lack the emotion in the original work. All are available on Youtube.

Also, new sig. Those are the songs I've been digging lately.

Every time I've driven somewhere in the past week I've listened to **** Tha Police by NWA. I don't know why, but it's fun as hell to drive to.

Been having Land of Confusion by Genesis stuck in my head for the past few days, due to hearing Disturbed's cover of it on the radio.

I've done that. The rest of the album is just as good....

And BJ, I'm still obsessed with Op. 9 No. 2. I just can't get it out of my head. I've listened to about ten different versions of it and they're all so inseparably good.... Rubinstein, Horowitz, Jacobsen, Tzvi Erez, I love all of them.

Ah, I love all those pieces. I can play Fantasie but Ballade is out of my league (for now ).

I really love Liszt though, I find his Transcendental Etudes second only to Chopin's Op. 10/25. Also, I find Rubinstein to be THE BEST pianist in the way he expresses emotion.
