Afro Celt Sound System
![]() Now, I might be taking a shot in the dark here, but has anyone here ever listen to these guys? Chances are, unless you listen to a lot of Celtic music like me, you probably haven't. However, I think they are probably the most creative idea for band in years. As their name implies, the type of music they make is a mixture of Tribal African, Traditional Irish, and Modern Electronic. When you first here that, it makes as much sense as pineapples on pizza. Those distinct genres of music wouldn't seem like they would complement each other very well. Yet just like pineapples on pizza, it is surprising how good it actually is. Now they haven't produced any music in almost 5 years, but nothing gets me in a good mood like these guys. Aside from the core members of the band, they have produced music with plenty of other big names in music, or at least in the Celtic spectrum of the music world. Including Sinéad O'Connor. http://www.myspace.com/afrocelts For those of you who have heard of Afro Celts, what do you think of them? For those who haven't, what do you think of what you've heard of them from this post?

Not bad. It's hard to find such original music these days, it's just not as popular as it should be. Nice though, I quite enjoyed that.

I've heard of them. My radio station plays "When You're Falling" but that's the only song by them I've ever heard.
It's ok, but we play it a lot, so I'm a bit tired of it. I'll give these a litsen and see what I think. Does Peter Gabriel sing on all of it?

Re: Afro Celt Sound System
Not really. Most of their songs are just instrumental. He does sing on a few of them and there are the songs where they have guest artists.
