Dear ZU Members,

My favorite love song is "The Rose" performed by Conway Twitty and "Endless Love" by Lionel Ritchie and Diana Ross and I was just wondering if the fine people of ZU could tell me thier favorite love song/s. Do you even like love songs?

"Love, Love, Love (Love, Love)" is my most favouritest love song, ever. I bet nobody saw that coming.

Really fun song to sing along with. And Lizzie Huffman has an amazing voice.

The Beatles, I've Just Seen a Face.

I like Jim Sturgess singing it more personally, but regardless a fun song.

And a lot more that I can't think of right now. I'm more of a sucker for love songs where things don't work out, not where they do.

My favourite love song is definitely "I Want You" by Bob Dylan.

My favourite love song: Truly Madly Deeply by Savage Garden.

Barenaked Ladies - "Light Up My Room"

It's not exactly a love song in its entirety, the chorus is really the only part that kind of alludes towards any theme of love, but it is a beautiful song that is one of my favourite songs from my favourite band.

Counting Crows - "Accidentally in Love"

Not what one could call a typical Counting Crows song, this is still one of my favourites. It just exudes happiness and brightness, and is pretty much the feeling of falling in love in the form of a song.

George Harrison - "What is Life"

Another one of those jump-for-joy upbeat numbers, the last line in the chorus is just absolutely killer.

The Grass Roots - "Let's Live For Today"

A cover of an Italian song, its pretty much a big hippy anthem, but that doesn't make the line "Let others plan their future / I'm busy loving you" any less sweet.

Great Big Sea - "Beat the Drum"

Again, not really a love song, but the verses definitely allude to it in a not-that-veiled way, and coupled with the music it evokes that feeling, for sure.

Hanson - "Penny & Me" and "Georgia"

Pop songs from a group that deserves to be remembered by more people for more than just "MMMBop." I'm not sure who "Penny & Me" is about, but I know that "Georgia" was written for the lead singer's wife and it is a really great tune.

Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell - "Ain't No Mountain High Enough"

Do I really need any explanation?

You'll need to play it in the myspace player, but it's excellent power pop. The song itself is very catchy.

everything Blake Schwarzenbach does is genius.

Les Thugs - I Love You So

This song may change your perspective on a lot of things. If you listen to it it's not so much about love as it is a reaffirmation that the universe is depressing and lonely. But it works.

Oh man, I DIG love songs. I really like a lot of them, but my ultimate favorite is Listen to Your Heart by DHT. Close behind though is Love Will Find a Way from Lion King II. My other favorites include:

Agreed.
But I had to put atleast one of them up here.

A lot songs by The Beatles, notably "I Want to Hold Your Hand".
"For You I Will (Confidence)" by Teddy Geiger is a song that I've always loved because of it's brilliant lyrics (they're good, anyway, I'm just being biased calling them "brilliant", though I still think they're great) and calming atmosphere. It also strikes a bit of a chord with me, so that's nice.
Marvin Gaye is great; "If I Could Build My Whole World Around You" is what'll mention, since Nolan's already said a song of his.
