But Mother's Milk has the Punk Rock Classic, my favorite RHCP song of all time.

Re: ZU's Favourite Albums: Submissions and Voting
I consider it a song from Blood Sugar Sex Magik cuz that's what era it's from and that's what album it sounds like it belongs on :forte:

Re: ZU's Favourite Albums: Submissions and Voting
I picked By the Way because it shows so many different sides of the band. Californication and Stadium Arcadium only show a side or two respectfully.
Mother's Milk is a good one though, as is Blood Sugar Sex Magik. Funky Monks is one of my favorite songs of all time. But to reiterate, I picked By the Way for it's overall representation of the band's sound. That pick is still very much subject to change though. |

Re: ZU's Favourite Albums: Submissions and Voting
OK, well here are the rules I'm setting for myself:
-No "best ofs" or compilations (it's not fair on the proper albums) -Only albums that I've heard ALL the songs from (I've never listened to all of Sgt Pepper, so I can't say it's good because I don't know that for myself) With that said, I'm left with very few albums to choose from - mostly I just download individual songs, or buy compilations. As a result, you may be able to guess exactly when I stopped buying albums (the more modern ones were gifts). Here goes: 1: Fat of the Land - Prodigy 2: POP - U2 3: Electric Ladyland - Jimi Hendrix 4: OK Computer - Radiohead 5: Zooropa - U2 6: (What's the Story) Morning Glory - Oasis 7: By the Way - Red Hot Chili Peppers 8: Definitely Maybe - Oasis 9: Americana - The Offspring 10: In Utero - Nirvana 11: Hello Nasty - Beastie Boys 12: Get Lifted - John Legend 13: Appetite for Destruction - Guns 'n' Roses 14: Hooray for Boobies - Bloodhound Gang 15: Automatic for the People - REM

Re: ZU's Favourite Albums: Submissions and Voting
I really have to question how anyone can choose Broken Boy Soldiers over Consolers of the Lonely. They really hit their stride in the sophomore album in places they fell flat on their faces in the first album.
I'll re-listen to By The Way tomorrow. It's always seemed like such a sissy, radio-friendly album to me. Maybe I'm wrong, since so many of you chose it. But currently, I put it below Mother's Milk, Californication, Stadium Arcadium, and Blood Sugar Sex Magik, in that order. Dosed makes me cry. Love the **** out of that song. Oh god. It's so ****ing good. Just sayin'. Best song on that album.

Re: ZU's Favourite Albums: Submissions and Voting
That's an album now? Sorry bud, but in the mid nineteenth century, there weren't "albums" like you and I know them. He wrote some music to celebrate a victory, and wrote it down on paper. No actual recording as you're used to it, be it digital or analog.
Replace album with "book," "paper," or "symphony" and you'd be spot on.

![]() There are certainly albums titled Tchaikovsky's 1812 overture. I have several. Besides the whole point of this thread is too put forth our favorite music. If Tchaikovsky etc. get counted out because LP/CD/SACD/MP3 etc weren't present yet? Thats complete and utter bull****. Honestly, I'm not ****ing retarded, I know Tchaikovsky didn't walk into a studio and play the damn thing himself.

Quote:
Tchaikovsky never put together a set of tracks that went together and were to be played together and were located in a collective set, hence he never recorded an album. Music was just not that way back then. Now if there were some variety of disc you had that was an arrangement of several of his songs played by some phil harmonic or pianist or whatever, go ahead and list that, but ****ing "1812 Overture- Tchaikovsky" looks like something a ****ing retard would put.
