Michael Bay needs to be stopped
He's remaking Rosemary's Baby.
Okay, so he's a producer, but as a celebrity he should be held responsible for the inevitable murder of a classic movie. Rosemary's Baby is as good as any other movie that has been made. Roman Polanski directs, Mia Farrow plays Rosemary superbly, and there is a fantastic supporting cast of old-Hollywood stars. There isn't a scene in the original that needs to be improved, and there isn't a flawed performance from start to finish. It's aged impeccably. Why do these people insist on taking these well loved films and just butchering them? Surely the string of flops that precede them should be sending out warning bells? Rosemary's Baby is something like an American The Wicker Man and look how that remake turned out. Hmm, I wonder who'll be cast. Well an obvious choice for Rosemary would be Katie Holmes. Well, they do say that life imitates art... Guy is probably going to be played by somebody from the OC, Morgan Freeman will end up playing Hutch (if he doesn't get a voice over that is) and there's a good chance that John Travolta will land the role of Minnie.

Well, we know that the ending will change if Bay decides to direct as well.
If Bay directs it's pretty much guaranteed to not be as good as the original. There's no way Bay is able to get performances from his actors that can tell the subtleties that make the original so scary, so he's likely to rely on visuals rather than performances. Which means we'll probably see the baby. Which will suck. BUT it could always be worse. Brett Ratner could always end up directing it.

That made me laugh out loud, man. funny. why DO they keep insisting on re making all these classic horror flicks? probably because a lot of the people who like to go see horro flicks are teenagers- the same demographic that would be most UNlikely to decide to watch a horror film from back in the day. it's like opening it up for the younger audience to see in the theater, then maybe they'll be interested in seeing the original and realize it's better. Now, I should note, there are many directors worse than Michael Bay, and he's reasonably good at action stuff.
But yeah, horror is not his thing, by any stretch of anyone's imagination.
