Christian Bale...any excuse to go back into the gym, huh? Seriously, this guy lives in the gym ever since Batman. Oh well, I wonder if the movie series will ever reach the future time period when they send Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminators to the past (I'm sure it will just be done in CGI, no need for any actors nowadays. I'd sorta hate it if they just mentioned it without showing the audiance anything).

I too am a fan of the Terminator movies (and now the show), and like most people, I love the second one the most (just like how most people like Rocky IV the most)

This is gonna suck so bad I can just feel it. Worse than the third I'm guessing. I mean Katherine Brewster? Come on! Why did we even need her she was so pointless! And I heard Arnie wasn't going to be in this one and IMO it's not a terminator film without Arnie and Dr Silberman

I like all 3 so far. The 3rd is probably the least of the movies, but I had a lot of fun watching it

My favorite Governator lines from that one:

The 3rd one is on tv a lot, the 1st rarely, I think I saw that movie only once or twice. The 2nd one is the movie I saw the most. T-1000, Arnold, Sarah Conner, everyone kicks ass.

It may prove to be decent, but it won't be a "true" Terminator film.

If you've been watching the Sarah Connor Chronicles, then you can see it's quite do-able without Arnold (they just find a few other heavy-built guys to try and take his place). But then again, Arnold has been the only T-model (that we've seen) that's on the side of good (well technically, learning from the third movie and tv show, forced to be good before he starts going haywire and revolted against the humans again). Other than that new T-chick on the tv show, it sorta would be nice to see a new face once in awhile (it's like asking LoZ Link being the one and only Link of the whole series. No, we need a new face every once in awhile). Who knows, if the TV show doesn't cancel (wait? Has it?) maybe we'll see the moment the T-chick goes back in time.

I LOVE TSCC, apparantly the new movie(s) will reinvent the franchise and ignore T3 movie completely, I'm looking forward to it though I kinda cringe with Arnold in a movie his accent seems to annoy me SO much which is why I've barely watched the terminator movies, TSCC has been my favorite thing to do with Terminator because it just reinvents it and now the movies (which might be going hand in hand with the series) are going to come out and I can myself becoming a Terminator nerd (which means I'll have to watch the first 3 movies gah!) They are trying to show their franchise is worth more than having the same dolt star in every single movie, they want to break away from the whole Rocky, Rambo dull movies and break out the stuff they had been working on, example The Sarah Connor Chronicles and the new movies, Arnie isnt essential to the franchise if anything it held them back.

Held them back? Are you serious? Terminator was good because of Arnold. Why do you say he held them back?

I just don't see how they can make a terminator movie without Arnold after he made such a big hit in the trilogy. If they make it and I like it, I'll be really surprised (pfft, like it'll happen)

Because for the first three movies he ALWAYS had to be in it, that held them back from exploring other ideas it'd always had to be "well Arnold has to be the main character", the series is doing pretty well and it just helps move focus to the people who were MEANT to be the ACTUAL main characters of the movies Sarah & John. With T4 it'll be John centric (I think) and no Arnold so we can see how they originally planned the movie franchise, they didn't plan it around Arnold, he came in, it was a hit they had to have him in the following sequels to get it attention, now that the series is going well they can risk doing the movies, which I'm happy about.

The story is key not Arnold and the new movies & the series will/have proved this.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this one.

Pros:
- Christian Bale as John Connor
- Kyle Reese
- Takes place in the apocalyptic future of which we've only seen glimpses
- Josh Brolin (Planet Terror, No Country for Old Men) is rumored to be considered for the role of a/the Terminator
- Has the blessing of James Cameron
- Special effects are coming from the same guy who's been involved from the beginning

Cons:
- Takes place after T3, which I felt negated the whole premise of the first two
- Conflicting reports as to whether John Connor is the central character, a character of equal importance to Kyle Reese and/or a new character named Marcus, or a less important character than the aforementioned two
- Not the most inspired of choices for a director in McG, but he has a decent track record

So, could be good, could be bad. Only time will tell.
