No Country For Old Men

Truly a wonderful motion picture- one of the most exciting in years. Also, it is undeniable that the actor who took the role of the terrifying Anton Chigurh acted excellently.

Who else has seen this movie?

I saw this movie. Honestly, I thought it was decent, but not the amazing movie critics have hailed it for being.

There was no climax to the movie, and the ending was stupid.

Why do you view the ending as "stupid", and why do you claim that there was no climax to the movie?

Because the ending, in my opinion, didn't end the movie.
Spoiler (Highlight to read):
The antagonist gets away free, and the protagonist gets gunned down after showing that he's a good man.

Now I'm not sure whether this was to show that the world is a real place and that more often than not, evil triumphs over good or what, but it was a disappointment to see it end the way it did. If there's hidden epilogue somewhere after the credits, then tell me.

There was no climax to the movie. Seriously. It dragged. Maybe I'm desensitized or something, but there was no real high point to the movie.
Spoiler (Highlight to read):
It did have its moments, like the time when Moss got in the car to escape from Anton only to see the driver get shot, or the car accident at the end,
but to me, a lot of the movie was just "see a guy kill people like and express no emotion, run away" stuff.

Also, I can't tell whether having zero music in the film hurt it or helped it.

All in all, I think that this movie does an excellent job in showing a realistic situation in a realistic world. I don't know, maybe I didn't give it a chance, but I did not enjoy this movie the first time I saw it.

Javier Bardem did a terrific job and from the opening scene the character gtes your attention.

The movie is very good although the ending seems abrupt its unique in the fact that it doesnt have the typical Hollywood ending and the characters are fun to analyze.

I did not expect it to be such a dark film though.

Really one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I didn't know if it would be as good as last years The Departed, but it really was... in a lot of different ways.

Also, it was one of the scariest movies I have seen. No actual horror movies scare me now'a'days. Javier Bardem did an excellent job. And the suspence that the Coen Brothers brought was unlike any other.

It had its moments.

"You stand to win everything. Call it."

But, nay, it isn't the best movie of last year (There Will Be Blood and Sweeney Todd trump it by far).

It had the Coen Brothers and all the star appeal it ever needed. Plus they taught that Spainard to speak english and he suffered the worst hair cut of all time. Give them an Oscar and send them on their merry way for their troubles.

1) That was a great scene

2) As if he wasnt homely looking as it is, yet he landed Penélope Cruz

3)I have yet to see There will be Blood, is it out on DVD yet?
