10,000 BC

Quote:
Mammoth hunter D'Leh (Steven Strait), a member of a hunter-gatherer tribe living in 10,000 B.C., his people are kidnapped. Himself and 2 other of his people leave to follow the captured tribesmen. He is believed to be a sacred person throughout the ancient cultures.Gathering armies from other tribes by fulfilling prophecies, he follows the captured to their great cities. D'Leh uncovers a now lost civilization while in pursuit of a warlord who kidnapped his love, Evolet (Camilla Belle). D'Leh and his army come face-to-face with a saber-toothed cat, woolly mammoths, and terror birds in the journey to save his people.
What do you think? Are you going to see it? I know I might

Looks pretty awesome because it has lots of CGI and such...

I think this movie could be pretty good. There is tons of room for exploration of any underlying theme they may present. Not to mention that a movie set in prehistoria is an idea which hasn't been touched since One Million Years B.C. and Clan of the Cave Bear, both of which are just awful.

Although you could probably assume Conan the Barbarian was set in this era, but anyways...

Having read over the plot, I don't have very high hopes for this movie at all. It seems like just another one of those cheeseball 'epics' that Hollywood is pumping out recently in an effort to appeal to the young filmgoer. There is so much potential, but the filmmaking industry is all too willing to sacrifice that opportunity for a quick buck.

I probably won't see 10,000 BC until it reaches the bargin bin. Which is a shame, because it really is a cool idea.

10, 000 BC was awesome. Or so I thought at least.

Not to mention that Camilla Belle as Evolett was just breathtakingly beautiful. I was smittened. rofl. I don't know what it was, but she was very pretty throughout the movie.

Not to mention the intensity left me holding my breath. I'm not a hardcore movie critique, and I don't have high standards for them, so I enjoy most movies I watch. 10, 000 BC is for sure one of my favourites. :]

Its intresting in the way Hollywood portays the Smilodon as huge and menacing animal when they werent that huge to begin with.

Haha I'm just like you. I like moves, but I'm not too judgemental of them... There's a lot of movies I like that everyone bashed.
But I'm going to take your word... Never judge it before you see it, right?

Yeah, 10,000 BC is just the sort of movie a critic would hate, because of its shallow plot and overall lack of originality. But if you're willing to shut your brain down for a couple hours and enjoy a suspenseful and richly animated action flick, then I think you'll like this movie.

It was fantastic! the concept of the lifestyle of characters is similar to that of later in the b.c. the animals are accurate.

I found 10,000 B.C. a truly amazing movie. ^_^

Spoiler (Highlight to read):
Attack of the Killer Ostriches! I found that part very funny.
