Akira: Live action

If Hollywood regurgitating ancient anime relics like Speed Racer and Dragonball isn't enough to make you gag, well, prepare to be enlightened. They're going to try a franchise that actually has some depth. That's right, Akira is going live-action.

How does this sound to you?
Warner Bros. is setting this one up, they are splitting it into two movies, it's being directed by an Irish first time director named Ruairi Robinson, it will be taking place in "New Manhatten," and there's a possibility(slim) Leonardo Dicaprio will play as Kaneda.



My jaw can't seem to close. Well, there are two things they better not screw up on: The teddy bear hallucinigisms, and the bikes.

Also, I get this movie will be based on the manga instead of the the animated movie? Sweet! It wil actually be kinda new to me.



Oh, and the bike looks like a blown up plastic toy. They better make a "real" one.
