Re: Indiana Jones IV

George Lucas just had his head all the way up his ass, with his big ego thinking he was hot ****. I think he was just excited to be making money again off making, literally, terrible movies only because they had the name 'Star Wars' slapped on them.

Thats one thing I like about the old Indiana Jones movies, they're actually good movies.

I'll check Indy IV out on DVD, but I won't go in expecting much.

Re: Indiana Jones IV

For me this movie proves that George Lucas is best as a producer and idea guy letting the truly competent directors make the most of his sometimes ludicrous ideas. I loved the film it was fun and to me was slightly better then Last Crusade (to me the weakest of the Indy films). Most complaints I've heard about it do revolve around two things. The Fridge and the nature of the goal. Now when I was the fridge bit I clearly saw the label saying lead lined. If it didn't I would have complained but instead I just thought awesome. Sure its still implausible but we already have eternal live and a guys heart being pulled out in this series so I stand by the conclusion of awesome.

On the other issue maybe the power was explained to much, but considering the nature of the artifacts in the pervious films I know which one I prefer. Besides you can't set an adventure film in the 1950s with communists as the villains with out having that involved somehow. In fact I would say the film would have felt wrong considering the other aspects of the culture of the 1950s that where already present. So yeah if you haven't seen it go and see it.

Re: Indiana Jones IV

In my opinion people are too critical of the newer Star Wars films. Although not amazing, they were decent for what they were. You can't look at them in comparison to the older films, because they're focus is different. Very similarly with the new Indy. However, I do agree that it would've been better had they not shown
Spoiler (Highlight to read):
the aliens
, just as they didn't show God in the older films.
