Jumper

Jumper is a film about a person (who soon finds there are others like himself.) who can teleport. it looks pretty good, it's coming out here on the 14th of february, I don't know about America, maybe it's already out there.

I really want to see this, but I do not know if my crappy theater is showing it. Which sucks because the last movie I wanted to see Untraceable, did not make it here.

Been trying to see if its coming through the internet, but the website wont work properly

I know it has nothing to do with the movie, but the title reminds me so much of the tv show "sliders".

Just got back from the movies after seeing Jumper. I thought it was a great movie with lots of great moments. Some action, a little romance, plenty of comedy, and some drama.

Spoiler (Highlight to read):
It starts off with David Rice, the main character, on top of the Sphinx in Egypt. He goes into explaining his day up until Lunch. He then starts to explain his first 'experience' with jumping(that he can remember) which is really funny.

Then explains his home life and how his mother bailed on him and his father when he was 5 and how his father was never really there. Then goes to explain his life after running away.

Anyways, i thought it was great. The special effects were awsome, the story was great. The characters from David, the Millie(the girlfriend) to the comedian Griffin, a fellow Jumper. He provides some very great funny lines and still be serious in the next scene.

The whole Paladin organization is kinda the cliche type. Religous fanatics who are out to kill Jumpers because 'Only Gods should have the ability to be anywhere' or think thats what Roland says(the main villian)

Time for a HUGE spoiler so honestly, if you have not seen the ending, do not read on.

We learn that David's mother is part of the Paladin organization. David experienced his first Jump at 5, which from Griffin, we can assume that its normal among them.

It really pissed me off when she said he left them because he was a Jumper. That meant that she had to either kill him, or leave them. All the while claiming she loves him. If I had a son and my son was like those I was hunting. I would stay and protect him. We learn that she has been protecting him and covering up his tracks from time to time.

But that is just to save her own skin. At the end, she says that because she loves him she is going to give him a head start, meaning the next time they meet it will be a fight. Damn she pisses me off.

The only thing she does is set up a great story for a sequel. She reminds me of Mrs. Coulter from His Dark Materials. Which means I can already see the ending of the sequel(assuming there is going to be one)

Anyways it was a really great movie. Hmm, I wonder what happens to Griffin at the end? I do hope they make a sequel, would love to see what happens when David and Griffin meet again

I saw a trailer of it when watching Cloverfield. Many people thought this was a seperate Marvel film for Nightclawler, much like that "Wolverine" and "Magneto" film coming out. It obviously wasn't.
I'm hoping on seeing it. It looks pretty metal. I'm all in for Action Jackson. He's had it with these muther****in Jumpers on this mother****in film.
But I have a question: isn't Hayden Christensen supposively "Retired" from acting?

I think the Film is based off of a book, havent read it but I think I will try and get a copy.

It was a sweet movie.

Spoiler (Highlight to read):
Especially when Griffin took the car and started jump driving, and when he jumped the bus onto Roland

PS MoT, the line was

Spoiler (Highlight to read):
"Only God can have the power to be in all places at once" not gods.

Oh sorry about that.

Spoiler (Highlight to read):
I also agree that the 'Jump Driving' was a great scene. Griffin in general was just a great character. He seems to be serious, yet always has something funny to say.

Jumper had a glorious idea...Sadly oh so sadly they had terrible execution. The fight scenes could have been oh so much more spectacular but instead all fight scenes combiened would only equal two minutes... Not because the jumpers are fast but because the choriographer couldnt think of anything. When you have a power like that i doubt youd hit someone head on or charge at them, personily i feel the character should have moved EVERYWHERE not just straight lines. That even an infant could see coming a mile away.
