3:10 to Yuma

I intended on seeing this in the theaters when it came out, but for some reason I never got around to it. The other night I picked it up from Blockbuster, since I had no school this week, and I was able to watch it one morning.

Man am I pissed that I waited so long.

I haven't seen too many Westerns, but this was hands down one of the best movies I've seen in years. I'm literally inspired to work on my own kind of Western stories now, or read some stuff of Louis L'Amour, because that film was simply fantastic. I can't believe how the characters were so traditional, yet at the same time so damn compelling. I hated Charlie Prince's guts, I was beyond relieved to see William Evans turn out to be a tolerable teen, I wanted to see Dan Evans succeed more than anything, and boy was I was captivated by Ben Wade's devious charisma. The cast characters was simply stellar, and the movie's theme of what was good or evil always made you think.

Anyone else floored by it?

3:10 to Yuma was fantastic. I wanted to hate Wade, but his character is far too interesting and comelling to hate. Christian Bale's character was also really well acted. Easily one of my favorite movies of '07.

I saw it last night, and I enjoyed it. Christian Bale and Russell Crow have excellent chemistry. The theme of honor was done very well too, and the ending just blew me away!

Holy crap, I loved this movie so much. I remember in the theatre that only me and my friend and maybe a select few others were still young. All the other patrons were quite aged, but it's a western, so it makes sense.

But yes, both Russell Crow and Christian Bale are two of my favourite actors (Nicholas Cage being the first) so when I saw this movie I knew it had to be great. I liked how Russell Crow's character was so infamous and notorious, but when you met him, he was actually very smart and was apparently Christian.

I loved the ending as well how they teamed up to make it to the train, but I was surprised when Bale's character was shot.

The cursed gun concept thing was pretty cool, how everyone who used the gun died. Except for Crow, so I suppose he was the one who made it cursed by killing people (I have no idea).

All-in-all, 10/10.

^Yeah, I also want to point the fact that I still didn't know how the movie was going to end even after the climax. In most of the movies I've seen, you can guess the ending right after you meet the villain, but that is not the case in this movie. Crow's character is a writen very well. She is a cold-hearted killer, but he has that code of honor dep down that Bale's character brings out.

Spoiler (Highlight to read):
When Bale's character (Dan, right?) died, you should have heard my friend. He actually screamed out "No!" Seeing Dan die is hard to watch since he is such a great character.

The characters in 3:10 were very well sculpted. The bandit portrayed as a devilish man does have moral groundings (in a sense) to a religious source. He is as much a normal man as Bale's character, albeit he pillages.
The scenes following their arrival in Yuma ended the movie with a punch. A few of the people I watched it with weren't too enthralled, but if you look at deeper meanings then you will enjoy the movie that much more.

This was a great movie, far better than anticipated. The beginning was a little confusing, but that didn't matter much as I somehow managed to sleep through it =\

The ending was really powerful though, it definitely made the whole movie worth it. Only thing that could have made it better? A cameo appearance by Clint Eastwood.

I agree, I really don't like westerns (Though I have only seen a few) but this movie was really amazing.

This is the exact reason I'm seeing this movie as soon as I get a spare couple hours during which I don't feel guilty about not doing school work. Ok, I also really like westerns, but Alan Tudyk is the main reason.
