The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian trailers and video clips on Yahoo! Movies

You can tell some differences from the book of course.

I've been waiting 2 years for this. I'm glad it's finally out.

Of course it's still about half a year away... but still, Narnia!

Looks awesome !!!

I really wish they would make the first book : Magicians Nephew. That was my favorite.
I think I got the greatest sense of fantasy from that story. But I suppose they want to make the movies that have the Pevensie children in them before they grow too old.

They're making them in the order that Lewis wrote the books.

The Silver Chair will be irrelevant to the Pevensies.
The Magician's Nephew will also.
The Horse and his Boy.

Still some books have a year or so between them... so as long as they don't dilly dally, they shouldn't have any problems.

After PC I believe is The Dawn Treader, then the Silver Chair, the Horse and his boy, the Magician's Nephew, and then the Last Battle.

To be honest I'm only going to see this movie to compare how different it is from the original version, which was extremely boring.

I first saw the preview for it in the movie theater...I am pretty exited for it. I hope that it is as good as the first one (which it seems it is). I understand why they may not follow the book, because if they did it would be somewhat long and boring

Too bad we have to wait so long for it to come out...

So then they're actually planning on making them all ? Wow ! Looks like a long time to wait then for TMN and TLB

The actor they chose for Prince Caspian is too old.

But I'm split on this. I mean, eye-candy versus keeping true to the details of the story... mmm... I don't know. I will, of course, be seeing this in the theater at my first opportunity.

He's described in the book (if I recall correctly) of being just about Peter's age. So Ben Barnes is 6 years older than William Moseley.

Eagles weren't in the movie, etc. etc.. They need to change stuff all the time, unfortunately.

I'll still go see it, in hopes that my money that my family pays (maybe even double if we see it again) will make the next one, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, my favorite of the books, really good.

(And of course because I expect the movie to get at least a B in my book)

Ben Barnes is nearly my age; is Prince Caspian really supposed to be in his mid/late 20's?

I haven't read the books in several years.

He's about the same age as Peter. I always guessed Peter to be 17 or 18. So Prince Caspian should be in his late teens.

He's still going to school during the book, so Peter can't be an adult. (or else Edmund couldn't go with him. The boys were going to one school, and the girls to another.)

Well, anyway.

What I was saying is that I think they really shouldn't have picked an actor that was 26 to play Prince Caspian --- but they did. And I'm glad he's cute.

I think you can only be so picky, Soph. The co-producer of the movie is CS Lewis' step son, and his heir. I recently listened to an interview where he said pretty much everything that has to do with the movie has to be passed by him and given the okay... and he is very much involved in Narnia and knows more than most people. The age of the actor himself doesn't matter, and never does in the business. It's the look of the person, and the actor for Caspian looked fine.

I saw the movie last night at midnight, mostly because I had nothing better do it and love going to midnight showings. I enjoyed the movie very much, but haven't thought about it too objectively yet, I normally do that sometime after I watch it... or when I watch it the second time.

The places they filmed were BEAUTIFUL. I enjoyed just looking at the scenery.

Good movie.

I just got back from watching it. ***SPOILERS ALERT***

Very interesting flick. It had far greater departures from the book than did the first movie. And I'm not sure yet how I feel about that. I mean, they had an entire battle (at the castle) and animal allies (i.e. the eagles) that were not in the book at all. So they definitely took a lot of liberties. And they gave this movie a much darker tone than the book; it felt a little bit like they were trying to catch up to The Lord of the Rings' epicness. There was one change that definitely improved on the book--when the four siblings discover themselves in the ancient hieroglyphics at Aslan's How, as well as the first time they see the Stone Table again. Very moving! Whereas in the book, it was hardly an event at all. Of course, the thing I probably liked the least was how little air time Aslan got in the movie compared to the novel. But oh well.

But all in all, as a movie to be judged by its own merits, even with its changes from the book, I have to say that it succeeds very well. And the scenery--both outdoors in nature, as well as inside buildings, towns, etc. was absolutely beautiful. Can't be topped!

Overall, this film has Rew's recommendation.

Just got back from seeing it. I LOVE IT. I am definatley going to see it in the theatres again. Well I'm not really that great at reviewing things so I won't but all I can say is WATCH IT. There were so many epic moments, I like the part when Lucy has the dream she meets Alsan, and many others..

I saw it last night -- opening night -- since i'm such a Narnia junkie. It was SOOOOOO accurate and good! They didn't miss that much, it was so epic and a lot darker than the last one. I really hope they make the Voyage of the Dawn Treader next. They hinted that Lucy and Edmund would be coming back like they did in the books so I'm expecting they'll do it. Anyways, Prince Caspian is definatly something worth watching. I want to go see it again. And again. And again.

I saw it when it came out the other day. It was so good! Many times better than The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (though I loved that one too)! A little too dark and violent for the PG rating though.

Incorrect. The Pevensies are in The Horse and His Boy, though as adults.

Well, I saw it at midnight last week all dressed up with all my friends because we expected something that would totally surpass the first movie and be our new favorite. I don't think any of us got it by the time we were walking out of the theater. I really didn't like it...
