Funniest film

What is the most hilarious film you have ever seen? Give reasons for your answer!

The funniest film that I have seen is Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (the first one). Jim Carrey is really suited to the role of Ace, and depicts his sheer stupidity beautifully.

Barbie Swan lake it is so funny the characters are just hilarious it's just really bad but thats what makes it good I suggest you watch it. Me and my cousin used to rent thr Barbie movies just to laugh at them they're all pretty funny and some are totaly distortions classic fairy tales.

I'm gonna go with the cult classics "Evil dead 2:dead by dawn" and "Army of Darkness". The humor in these movies is great, and is only further made funny by Bruce Cambell.

Clerks...
CLERKS is a film that a bunch of buddies and I watched repeatedly in college. Even after having seen the film more times that I can count, there's still something there that can make me laugh.

Woo! Quoted for truth. Jehanne, I'm beginning to like you more and more by the day, it's good to see you back!

Also, don't miss out on any Mel Brooks film, like Spaceballs, Robin Hood : Men in Tights, Young Frankenstien, or any Monty Python.

Yes, yes, yes! Some of my favourite movies ever. Sam Raimi is a genius for making these fantastic movies, as is Bruce Cambell for starring in them!

Come on guys, we need ONE more movie! Forget Spiderman, Raimi, get back to directing Ash!

Shop smart, shop S-Mart!

Simon Pegg is hilarious!

I think the movie I've found the funniest has to be....Dirty Sanchez. Not really a movie, but more of an extended TV show. Those funny Welsh men are, well, funny! I'm a big fan of the Jackass boys aswell, so Jackass 2 deserves a mention.

Oh geez, nearly forgot Kevin Smith's masterpieces! =o
Mallrats is still number one for me from him.

I'll try to avoid repeating anything, unless it deserves further mention. I'll just quickly say that out of those already mentioned, I really like Superbad, Accepted, Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Spaceballs, Young Frankenstein, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

So I guess I'll start by saying I love anything and everything that Kevin Smith has ever done. I can't even attempt to rank all of them, since I love them all, but I can say that with each one his style as a writer and director just gets better and better. Clerks II was probably my favourite movie of last year, and I cannot wait for Zack and Miri Make a Porno. The man is just brilliant. His Q&A DVDs, the Evening With... ones, are just as brilliant.

Just Friends was a bit of a surprise for me. It seemed like it'd just be another dumb romantic comedy...and I guess while it was that, it did have some great acting, and all the characters had great chemistry together. It also has a lot of brilliantly funny moments, both slapstick and just quick snappy dialogue. It was a real pleasant surprise.

Super Troopers is by far my favourite Broken Lizard movie, and still cracks me up to this day. I've seen it so many times I've lost count, and it's easily one of my all-time favourite comedies. Beer Fest was pretty ok, but nothing can come close to the comedic genius of Super Troopers.

National Lampoons' Van Wilder is probably the last really good NP movie to be made. Ryan Reynolds is just a comedic genius, and its a shame that his delivery style has been ripped off by that Dane Cook hack. Sure it's dumb and formulaic, but it's also really damn funny.

I'm having a bit of a brain fart (stupid finals), so that's all I can think of right now.

What About Bob?

and

Groundhog Day

It's hard to explain why a movie is funny to me, personally you'd just have to watch them.

Hve you seen the second Ace Ventura? It is almost as funny.
Have you seen Dumb and Dumberer? Not as good as the first one, but quite good nonetheless (JIM CARREY SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED!!!!!!!!!!).

There will be a third Ace Ventura, about Ace's son. Check it on Wikipedia. But guess what..... JIM CARREY IS NOT INVOLVED! What an outrage!

I'm running a little low on time here, so I'll put down some of them:
Clerks is a must, ALMOST all of Jim Carrey's films (the Number 23 doesn't sum up, doesn't it?), a lot of Adam Sandler films, and I don't know about you guys, but the Joker's tasteless humor in Batman was what made it into not only "Dark and Tragic", but really funny as well. His quotes are unforgetable...
"He's been using Brand Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx..."
