Woah, Prince of Persia movie? by Disney?

Yea so, I'm sure some of you guys have known this for awhile but Disney has been working on a "Prince of Persia" movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal. From the pictures that have been released (which can be found here) it actually looks good. At least in my opinion. The whole thought of Disney doing it is over my head though. Don't get my wrong I love Disney, but this doesn't seem to be the type of movie they could do. But I've been proven wrong by Disney before (hence, "Pirates of the Carribean")

We'll see how it turns out I guess. I assume it'll be rated PG-13 hopefully. So at least we'll get to see someone die. Anyway for now I'd like to hear your thought and opinions and all that jazz.

This is shaping up to be the next Pirates of the Caribbean, in my eyes, with lot's of just-for-fun acrobatic action. Probably not deep, but enjoyable nonetheless. Even as a Prince of Persia fan, I think the movie will do well. I think they have Jordan Mechner on board, so it might be faithful to the game series, as well.

Seems like a Pirates/Scorpion King crossover to me.

I can't say that I'm thrilled about the choice of Jake Gylenhaal as the Prince, though.
