Best Batman?

In response the the Joker thread I have created a Batman thread. I'd have to say I prefer Kevin Conroy as Batman because I'm more familar with him. Michael Keaton was also good. Val Kilmer was okay, but George Clooney and Adam West were both jokes. Christian Bale is pretty mediocre, and I share the Nostalgia Critic's opinion about that voice he makes as Batman.

Re: Best Batman?

Adam West was the best Batman ever.

Period.

My decision cannot be swayed. There will never be a better batman.

I'd explain why, but... there's just no need. Watch this video and you'll know why.

So awesome.

Re: Best Batman?

Christian Bale. Easy.

He captures Bruce Wayne's playboy persona perfectly. That, and he portrays the vicious, animal-like side of Batman with ease.

I love Kevin Conroy's voice, though. He's the best cartoon Batman.

Adam West would be awesome. Gotham would be in flames due to his poor leadership.

Re: Best Batman?

Keaton and Conroy aredefinately a tie for me. Keaton has the ability to be a surprising, mysterious, and interesting Bruce Wayne/Batman, which conroy has the perfect voice to show a serious, yet heartful character.

...I'll pick Keaton. Who else could also have played Beetlejuice just as great and be able to make one of the craziest lines ever (YOU WANNA GET NUTS? COME ON: let's get nuts)

I can just imagine him telling Joker this while proceeding to buy peanuts at the grocery store.

Re: Best Batman?

Bale's Batman voice is crap, Adam West was hilarious, Kilmer I remember nothin about, Clooney had no chance considering the script he had to use, and Keaton is the best Bruce Wayne who still pulls off a menacing Batman without going overboard (like Bale). I have to go with Michael Keaton on this one.

Re: Best Batman?

Like It or Not, in Nolan's Batman Universe, the Voice Works

Read more: http://actionfilmscomedies.suite101....#ixzz0Q3rcLtMi

Also in the comics, its said Batman uses some sort of gruff voice, so its pretty true to the comics. But I like Kevin Conroy also. Actually, I'm not sure which one I like the most

For the record, Bale's Batman voice was pretty much the way the comic describes the voice. The whole point is that Wayne doesn't want his voice recognised. I seem to recall hearing that there was an issue where Alfred starts worrying when Wayne continues to talk that way at the the mansion even while out of costume - 'bringing home his work' so to speak.

Michael Keaton was the best batman, Christian Bale is the worst.

George Clooney was a good Bruce Wayne, but not as much batman himself.

Re: Best Batman?

Obviously the best Batman was Michael Keaton. Adam West was awesome too, so maybe he wasn't really "batmanish", who needs to be when you're Adam west?

Worst Batman by far is Christian Bale, he's like a cheaper, more wooden version of Keanu Reeves (who also can't act) add to that poor script writing and you have a recipe for ****.

The disadvantage of trolling is that you don't get to voice your actual opinion.

Your suggestion that 'schoolkids who get into fights should be executed' in that other thread was my first clue. Criticising Bale wasn't the second, but criticising TDK as a whole was.

Dude, TDK was a very very over-rated movie. They tryed putting way too much into it and story wise not much happend. Batman Begins is a lot better than it in everyway. However, you can't deny that it was good, Heath Leger (idk how to spell it and quite frankly I don't give a ****) was a...unique take on The Joker.

What? The Dark Knight managed to capture the essence of some of the more mature Batman comics while still being original and fun to watch. Burton's Batman films had no meaning, or theme behind them. It was just, Batman going and stopping badguys. But Nolan's films had so much under the surface, morals being tested, what's right and what's wrong, justice vs. what's fair, etc. etc. It had so much more meaning.

I KNOW you didn't actually mean it even when you kept up the charade over the course of several pages; that's why it's called trolling - posting provocatively with the sole intention of getting a rise out of people.

You're entitled to your opinion of course, but I don't buy that that IS your opinion. Mostly because you haven't given a reason (aside from saying that various things 'suck'). Meanwhile, the best counter-argument one could possibly give to that has already been given:

Burton's Batman, though thoroughly enjoyable, was far more shallow. Its greatest achievement was its intuitive fusion of 40s-style set design and costumes with modern (at the time) 80s sensibilities to achieve a sense of some timeless decade, which was even more successfully continued into the animated series. Then, for some reason that made sense only to himself, Joel Schumacher decided to ruin this effect by adding in glaring neon lights everywhere (even in costumes).

No it's called irony. I-R-O-N-Y.

1. The use of words to express something different from and often opposite to their literal meaning.
2. An expression or utterance marked by a deliberate contrast between apparent and intended meaning.
3. A literary style employing such contrasts for humorous or rhetorical effect. See synonyms at wit1.
4. Incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs
5. An occurrence, result, or circumstance notable for such incongruity.
6. Dramatic irony.
7. Socratic irony.

By continuing to call me a troll I'd say you're "posting provocatively with the sole intention of getting a rise out of people". Maybe you should stop being so hypocritical (do you understand that word? Or do we need to go look in the dictionary for that one too?؟).

Quote:

My reason for thinking they suck is because they are bad films. Batman Begins was incredibly slow paced and just boring, the writing was bland, the action was mediocre, it was just a bad film. The Dark Knight was just worse, it was a mess of a film, too self important, the joker thing went on too long and became ponderous, the two-face arc was underdeveloped and unresolved, the movie insists upon itself. There's no feeling to these movies, it's just "Hey we're rebooting Batman!!!1!!", "Look, some other guy is plying the joker! Oh and this one has the Scarecrow in it!", it's just self important tripe.
