Re: Best Batman?
No I haven't, I've just responded to your constant pestering. The topic is who was the best batman, not reasons why TDK is a ****ty movie, and I'm pretty sure I gave my opinion on the best batman in my first post.

Re: Best Batman?
Batman Begins / The Dark Knight are by far the best Batman stories in film
or television. They are simply terrific. But you have to consider the development of the series from comics to the goofy 1960's to the Tim Burton films, to the Batman Begins series, it's a progression. Batman Begins/Dark Knight stands on the shoulders of giants. Adam West was a very enjoyable Batman, he was funny and droll, but not particularly cool or heroic. Michael Keaton I liked a lot because he was actually a tormented character. I liked how the series got a darker edge to it with the first 2 Tim Burton Batman films, despite some questionable quality in some parts of Batman Returns. Kevin Conory... who? Val Kilmer... ridiculous Gorge Clooney...ridiculous Christian Bale has a great intensity that makes him a very believable character wrapped in a corrupt fast-paced action world. He doesn't seem particularly like Batman when he's out of costume though. Still, he makes the costumed Batman a force to be reckoned with, and I hope to see him again. I loved Dark Knight, but I hated the new Rachel, they should've kept the actress from Batman Begins

Re: Best Batman?
I concur.
But in the movies. I would have to say Christian Bale. I like him the best. I think he took the character in a new direction and stuff. I know alot of people complain about his voice in TDK but I honestly didn't mind it. I heard every line loud and clear..

Re: Best Batman?
I thought Christian Bale's Batman in Batman Begins was by far the best interpretation of Batman onscreen.
His performance was ok in TDK, cause lets face it, Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart had the upper hand with more developed characters. I have to admit though, Bale was perfect in the whole segment of grieving Rachel's death.

IF HEATH LEDGER DIDN'T DIE THEN TDK WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN SO FAMOUS Truth is, action films are popular for a while then people forget them, notice how they never win the Award for the "Best Movie of the Year"? People went to see that film because it was his last work. That aside TDK did have a lot of really good action scenes and such. The scene in the bank at the begining, the scene at the party, the interogation scene, the chase scene where the Batmobile was destroyed so he had to use the BatCycle, those were some amazing scenes. However story wise not much happend, Joker was in it and Harvey became Two-Face, that's about all that happend.

Re: Best Batman?
Michael Keaton was a phenomenal Batman, Bale is great but I don't think anyone will ever top Keaton's portrayal of the Dark Knight.
Keaton was so intimidating, and I loved how he rarely spoke as Batman, very quiet, dark, mysterious and eerie and his facial expressions were fantastic, all in the eyes. |

Re: Best Batman?
Me being a total batman fan has skipped all the comments and voted for george cloooney: reason he has the right personality- good american actor to play batman..its only they had a crazy director for batman and robin. also because of this umum people are putting him down... and loastly cristion bales voice for batman is goood, michael keaton was quite good but um he didnt look like bruce wayne. and adam west was pretty crap.

Re: Best Batman?
I quite frankly hated Christian Bale's Batman voice. Seriously, he sounds like he has lung cancer. I'm gonna go with Michael Keaton.

He's been doing Batman's voice essentially non-stop for longer than all the other actors to have donned the cape combined. Something like 15 years now. He's also very, very good at it. Mind you, I like the DCAU Batman more than the comics one, since the DCAU one is much more human, while still being rather dark.

Re: Best Batman?
Christian Bale; he perfectly captures the playboy Bruce Wayne. As Batman, he's the best live action version yet, as he doesn't just rely on gadgetry and fist fights; he relies on smarts to overcome his foes. Christian Bale's Batman also best presented the tragedy, psychology and motivation behind the character.
If there's one problem with his Batman, it's that he didn't go far enough as Batman (As in not representing the moral code, determination and obsessions Batman holds as much as he could). As for the "voice" arguments, it works. He uses a deep, demonic tone to intimidate his opponents; psychologically battling them with fear (The other incarnations of Batman didn't really portray how Batman fights his enemies by using fear; they often avoided that to paint the character in a more heroic light, rather than a scowling, scornful interpretation. Come on, he's Batman, not Superman, damnit). In the comics, his voice is described as gruff, and it's only natural that someone would want to disguise his voice when fighting crime (After all, he's a public figure; his voice would be recognizable by virtually everyone).
