Pocahontas just bored the hell out of me and was entirely forgettable. Hunchback I had issues with because it shifted gears so quickly and so often I got whiplash. You get dark songs about hellfire followed instantly by Gargoyles dancing and singing about I don't even remember. No middle ground, just one to the other. No good in my books.

Also, you don't like Finding Nemo, so I can only assume that you are a crazy person .

I was forced to watch Pocahontas when I was little. I didn't understand what was going on.

Sorry Vala, Pocahontas was a travesty of history. Hunchback was a rape of the old classic. Those two are my most hated Disney films of all time.

Re: Worst and Best Disney Movies

The best Disney movie is Aladdin. It has the best cast of characters, and, unlike almost all of Disney's heroes, Aladdin is actually a very fun character who is very likable.

It has the best music, too, and my favorite setting and art direction as well.

Re: Worst and Best Disney Movies

My favorite Disney films would have to be any of the Pixar films, Lilo & Stitch, Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, Finding Nemo, PotC 1-3...yeah I don't watch too much Disney so I can't think of more.

Worst, well, any of the new stuff. Hannah Montana? Jonas Brothers? High School Musical? What would Wal Disney think of all this!? Also, I never liked the Chronicles of Narnia. Bored me t death, both of them.

I never saw the Lion King. I feel weird.

Re: Worst and Best Disney Movies

The best Disney movies.. That is an extremely tough question. Well, let's start off with the classics of the classics. The Swiss Family Robinson. That movie was one of the first old movies I ever seen. I loved it's stories and all the crazyness going on in the mean time. I mean the part where the Pirates fall into the trap with the tiger always gets me.

Of course, new stuff can do just as well, take Pirates of the Caribbean, I thought that one was pretty darn good. Excellent acting, (Orlando Bloom was an exception) and Johnny Depp never ceases to amaze. I rather they skipped 2 and went right on into 3 though.

Then Pixar came out with a number of excellent movies I watched and love and still do love as a child, most notably Toy Story. I remember begging my parents to buy me a Woody Action Figure. And the scene where the Spider toy with the baby dolls head on it use to scare me. I use to think Sid was the epitome of evil.

Some of Pixar's newer stuff is pretty good, I liked Finding Nemo, A Bug's Life and stuff. I've yet to see Wall-e- although I heard it's amazing. I mean it's not on the top of my movie list.

I'd like to talk more about the classic animated Disney movies but there is just so many.

The WORST movies, I'm not going to look for an easy get out and go with the new stuff that Disney produces that's obviously terrible.

The worst Disney movie I think I've ever seen would be.. well frankly I don't know. I've never actually sat through a bad Disney movie. If it was bad I'd just leave.

Disney Renaissance Movies.

I never liked the Hunchback of Notre Dame until recently. It's actually a ery dark movie (for Disney anyway). It has great songs as well.

Lilo and Stitch and afterwards are terrible movies.

Re: Worst and Best Disney Movies

I liked The Lion King. It was definitely one of the best movies Disney has made thus far. You can see elements from that movie copied in multiple other films that followed. The animation was excellent as well as the artistic style, which I can still watch today and think "wow, this was done well" (even with all the new digital stuff coming out). It was just an all out great film.

Anything recent involving Hannah Montana or the Jonas Brothers is crap.
By the way, I met the Jonas Brothers years back before they were famous.
They're ***holes. One of the guys felt me up and thought I'd swoon at him because he was "in a band".

Dirtbags.

Though, if we're talking classic disney, I have to agree with people on the Pocahontas thing. That was just horrible. Cinderella 2 and 3 were also nightmares.

BEST
Snow White and the 7 Dwarves (beautiful and frightening)
Pinocchio (like Snow White, beautifully animated)
Beauty and the Beast (compelling characters and incredible music)

WORST
Tarzan (very dull; the Disney Renaissance formula was wearing thin; also, it has Phil Collins)
Pocahontas (can't wait for the Disney animated musical romance of Anne Frank)

Re: Worst and Best Disney Movies

I vote Fantasia as the greatest animated film in history. One of the only films that ever completely reversed the purpose of a movie's score and made it the focal point of the film itself.

Other than that, The Great Mouse Detective and Mary Poppins are my personal favorites.

Re: Worst and Best Disney Movies

The Best
The Lion King - It's just simply amazing. Has one of my favorite soundtracks in a Disney movie.
The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride - Probably the only Direct-to-video sequel of Disney that I like. Like Lion King, it also has one of my favorite soundtracks of a Disney movie.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame - I didn't really watch it as a child except for maybe once, but I'm suprised at how dark this movie is for a Disney movie now that I'm older. "Hellfire" is basically a song that gives the message 'if she doesn't have sex with me she'll die.' Pretty out of place in a Disney movie.
The Fox and The Hound - Was my favorite Disney movie as a child, so it's on the list for mostly nostalgia. But it is still a great movie nonetheless.
Finding Nemo - It's a terrific movie. I'm utterly suprised and shocked at how many times I see it on the 'Worst List' on this thread.
Up - This movie managed to make me cry like a little girl within the first fifteen minutes of watching it. On a lighter note, I'm proud that this movie managed to be hilarious without resorting the toilet humor that most kids movies use nowadays.
Wall-e - One thing I like about this movie was that it created a great movie despite the fact little dialoge was used.
Beauty and the Beast - It's a gentler version of the actual story, but is still a good movie.
Aladdin - The only thing that really bugged me about this movie was Aladdin's singing voice. It sort of annoyed me.
Pirates of the Carribean: Curse of the Black Pearl - Best out of the trilogy.
Bambi - How CAN'T one love this movie?
Mulan - One of my favorites as a child, so is up here for nostalgia.
Lady and the Tramp - Didn't watch it much as a child, but now I love it.

The Worst
Chicken Little - It had potential to be a greater movie than it was, but unfortunately the plot was rushed and when the credits rolled everybody in my group at the theater were saying "That was it?". If they put more time into it, it would have been better than it was.
Cars - Worst. Pixar. Movie. Ever. Why the heck is this movie getting a sequel? The only Pixar movie that can get a sequel is Toy Story.
Anything that involves the Disney channel actors - Is Disney getting desperate now because the only good things it makes nowadays are the movies done with Pixar?

Personally I think the last good movie Disney made by itself was Tarzan, and after that the only good movies were from Disney Pixar.

By the way, I heard that Disney's finally making a 2-D movie again. I believe it's called the Princess and the Frog. I plan on watching this just to see if Disney can pull it off. What are your opinions on this?

Never liked them, never will.
I think that Disney has ruined some great stories, but they made it to were fairy tale books and movies have a happy ending when it shouldn't. :/

I think you need to re-watch it. Honestly, it is so powerful. Just like The Hunchback. Has such a good message. Beautiful art. And has one of the best songs ever made for a Disney movie.

Really? Are you seriously going to go there?
That hellfire song does not instantly change into a happy song. I call exaggeration. There is a transition. And don't even go there. So many of the other Disney movies change from the villain's song to a cheerful tune or scene.

Why should Pocahontas's(the Disney movie) interpretation of the history of the actual story be so important? Like I've said before, the ♥♥♥♥ing animals talk in every film.. except Pocahontas aha. The movie never made me think that's how it really happened. I wasn't an ill informed child, I guess. Just like I didn't think animals could talk.
Also, ALL history isn't accurate anyway. We don't really know how everything happened.
And the same thing with Hunchback. Why does it matter so much that the story was changed a bit for children, AND to stuff it into an hour and a half?
Do you realize how many stories/movies you watch and enjoy are just adaptations from the originals? I mean, look at Hercules. The Disney interpretation. Nothing like how the actual myth goes. I especially like how they leave out Herc going crazy and murdering his wife and children
Hunchback is such a moving, emotional, mature film for a Disney movie. The music is also amazing. And it's quite funny too. And it's a pity that just because it is a "rape" of the the old classic you don't like it. I wonder if maybe you never gave it a real chance because of that.. That would be a bias =/

I cannot see how anyone over the age of six can seriously watch that trash and enjoy it.

Also, I recently went through my nice collection of almost every Disney film and watched each one.
I realized that The Rescuers is a very, very good movie. I haven't seen it in so long.
And Pinocchio is a lot better than I remembered.
I also didn't realize how much I like the music from Cinderella and Snow White.
Oh, and Sleeping Beauty is a lot better than I remembered too.

I have to agree Vala here to some extent, it wasn't that great of a movie but it wasn't the worst either. I guess you could say that it was a mediocre movie.

Yes the rescurers is a great movie, so is the sequal "Rescurers Down Under". I had completely forgoten about these movies until I read your post.

Went I first posted in this thread I didn't realize that we were including Disney/Pixar movies. With this now being realized I would have to say that the Incredibles is the best 3-D and Treasure Planet is the best 2-D.
