500 Days Of Summer
This indie movie starring Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordeon-Levitt from 3rd Rock Fom the Sun had a limited release in July. It recently reached to my local Tower Theater and I went down there last night to check it out.
I'm a huge sucker for romantic movies, comedy or drama. This movie was like the perfect combination of both, and it was refreshing in that it didn't follow the traditional romantic movie formula. If you're a fan of those kind of flicks or just want to see a good well written/well acted film, I suggest seeing it. Anyone else seen it or interested in it? |

She's really good in the film. She plays her part perfectly, you love her yet hate her at the same time, which is exactly how you should feel in regards to the character she plays.

Re: 500 Days Of Summer
Excellent film. I had been following it since before its release, because Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of my favourite and in my opinion probably the most underrated actor in film right now. Every performance he has given for the past decade or so has been pitch-perfect. It also looked really well put-together. The director has only done music videos before this, some of them quite good, and it gave the film a unique look and style in a lot of parts.
Plus, it has a dance sequence, and I am a huge sucker for musical and dance numbers. Anyway, an excellent film. The performances are amazing from both Gordon-Levitt and Deschanel, and damn does Levitt make it easy to identify with him. Even my mother was right there on his side. Great soundtrack too, I just picked it up as a matter of fact. Great movie that I cannot recommend enough. It only has limited release, but if it is playing anywhere within two hours of where you live, it is worth the trip. |

Re: 500 Days Of Summer
I've wanted to see this film because I love the concept of how the love story is more "remembered" than it is presented and that seems like a fresh enough concept in a movie genre that kind of operates on cliches.
Sadly my local theater doesn't play movies like this, and when it does, it doesn't run them for very long, so I'll just have to wait for the DVD with this one.
