This Is It

I just got back from watching Michael Jackson's This Is It. I'm a bit of a MJ junkie, so I really, really enjoyed it. It was awesome seeing him at work with his dance routines and how hands-on he was with the production of his concert/music. Some of the most emotional parts for me was actually seeing how his music and dancing inspired so many young people. Gawd, he's a perfectionist with his music. I loved that.

The theatre I was in was crazy, too, like there were kids jumping all over the place, singing, people dancing the Beat It routine and lotsa applauding. Right at the opening, it says it's for the fans and, well, I couldn't agree more.

Downside; not all my favourite songs were shown argh, and needed more moonwalking.

Note: Guys, I wanna keep this discussion to just the movie, please. None of this let's-talk-about-his-personal-life shiznits. If you wanna ♥♥♥♥♥ about his court cases or whatever, go make a thread about it somewhere and leave it there. Just discussion on the movie, thanks.

Was Stranger in Moscow used for the music as well as any new music?

Also, I heard the movie sucks because towards the end, the main hero dies.

I feel like this movie is being affect by the same Sudden-Death Oscar syndrome that affected the Dark Knight. It's not being judged fairly due to a character's death.

I haven't personally seen it but a friend says it's definitely not worth the praise.

^I can agree with you there, but I really don't see what the problem is with appreciating something since it was the last of his talent caught on film. I admit, for myself, it did amplify how much I enjoyed it, though I do think I would've regardless since I've grown up on MJ music.

I kind of brushed this movie off as a cash-in, to be honest.

That said, I'm actually going with family to see it tomorrow, so I'm more interested in it than I was initially. And even if I don't find the movie itself particularly great, at least there will be some good music.

I wasnt very interested by my boyfriend is a huge MJ junkie. Ill probably see this movie regardless.

I really want to see it. I like MJ's music...
