Favre is a joke now. He needs to retire before he ruins his name even more than he already has.

Ah yes, it is about time for the new season to start. :]

Let's hope the Steelers can pull another two-seasons-in-a-row win! GO STEELERS!

Hey, they did do it twice before, with Super Bowls 9 and 10, and 13 and 14.

Brandon Marshall has been suspended for acting like a little girl: video here.

McDaniels' status as an offensive genius must be put into question for his apparent knack for bringing out the immature side of his most potent weapons.

^ Yeah I know it was all Mc Daniels' fault that Marshall got suspended last year.

Marshall is an immature punk, he was before Mc Daniels was hired and he will still be one once he's traded.

Marshall's always been a tool. But I still don't like McDaniel's much.

Re: NFL 2009/2010 Season

I am stoked for the season after last night's game against the Texans.

There are still kinks to work out to be sure, but this Viking team has the very real potential to become a juggernaut.

I was concerned after the Kansas City game that Favre might end up a bust, but he proved he can still play last night. The velocity on his passes indicated that he still has some strength left in that arm.

The defense is nearly invincible against the run (they've finished first each of the last three seasons and have given up fewer rushing yards over a three year span than any team in league history) and they are all solid tacklers. They remain a bit soft against the pass, but I'm optimistic that they will create turnovers and sacks to stall drives.

The offense is where the real story is at. Suddenly, what was just two years ago one of the NFL's most anemic units has become loaded with firepower. Percy Harvin hasn't made a huge splash yet, but his speed and capability for explosion are evident every time he touches the ball. Based on what I saw last night, Sidney Rice has improved and should fill in as a terrific third--perhaps second--WR. Bernard Berrian hasn't even played yet. Visanthe Shianco has become a top 5 receiving TE. Adrian Peterson is arguably the best player in football and Chester Taylor is arguably the best 2nd RB and very good in screen plays. Brett Favre is the savvy veteran that can man the ship. And the O-line, which was an area of concern going into the season, has defied expectations thus far.

Phew. I'm excited! My dad is sending me a Brett Favre jersey! Never thought I'd see the day. His return to Lambeau is going to be a moment to remember. Still hoping to get tickets to Dec. 28th Monday Night at Chicago . . .

Re: NFL 2009/2010 Season

To become a juggernaut, the Vikings gotta get past their own division first. The recent acquiring of Cutler makes the Bears a contender. Not mentioning the Packers have looked good for a while now. NFC North is gonna be one of the more interesting divisions this year in the NFL. Looking forward to it.

I really don't see Favre's torn rotator cuff lasting him through December.

Oh wow, that's a Dolphin player catching that ball. Awesomeness. Did I mention I'm a Dolphins fan too?

So I hear Pittsburgh is playing the Titans next. Roethlisberger better not be a moron this time like he was in the Super Bowl last season. He almost cost the team the game because of all those damned tackles he took. Still, I will not forget that 100 yard run Harrison pulled. That was ****ing incredible.

I think his $M45-50 contract is enough to ease the pain. That's only a 3 year deal. Who ever heard of a ****ing CB making 15-17 million? Incredible.

Who? Roethlisberger? Or Harrison? o_O

Ah, no matter. The Steelers prevailed in the end anyway, causing Warner to make a fool of himself in the end from that fumble AND making Fitzgerald's successes worthless AND putting Pittsburgh in the lead of Super Bowl wins AS WELL AS making them the team of the decade. :3

Didnt Nate Clements sign an $82 million deal when he signed with San Fransisco?

Re: NFL 2009/2010 Season

So for the pick em, should we post them here or in the other thread?

Sheesh, I can't believe the season is about to start. It seems like it was only yesterday that I was having nightmares about a Superbowl Hangover and the Madden Curse striking down Fitz. Screw those thoughts.

A quick look through the opening schedule yields these games of note:

MIN @ CLE, 1:00 PM - If there's two presences I despise in the NFL, it's Brett Favre and Cleveland fans. And here, in this deliciously dramatic game, they meet. We get to see the Purple Jesus work with the Purple Judas in some srs business for the first time. But seeing as how Mangina knows Brett well enough to name his son after him (lol), an early upset wouldn't be unexpected. Still, Cleveland will remain Cleveland.

SF @ ARI, 4:15 PM - 19-0 begins here. Fitz for MVP.

CHI @ GB, 8:20 PM - I'm looking forward to watching this one the most. Cutler vs. Rodgers. I'm looking for a 4-5 TD game from each QB, with half of Cutler's yards coming from dump offs and screens to Forte.

SD @ OAK, 10:15 PM - Tom Cable punches an assistant coach, and Merriman chokes a chick who used to be on a poster in my room. Gotta love the AFC West. Random prediction: as the sanest team, my vote is for KC to win the division.

He pushed the Cards backup safety down and started punching him. Dude didn't even hit back. Just sat there while Harrison beat on him for no reason.

Oh yeah, I'm sure Warner "made a fool of himself". The man went from a grocery bagger to a 3-time Super Bowl performer, and 2 time league MVP, all the while holding first place, second place, and third place in Super Bowl yardage. He's a fool alright. Yup.

Something along those lines. However, his deal was for 7 or 8 years. If I recall correctly, it rounded out to abotu $10M a year. Nnamdi is making over $15M a year for a short term contract. Usually, if you want the big money, you have to sign a 7 year deal.

Asomugha is a special case. He's like the only god-mode player on a ****ty team. Oakland is doing that to keep him happy, until they eventually trade him away in a Randy Moss style deal. :/
