How many of these books have you read?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hKE5jc2--Q

I doubt anybody here had read any of these books...they are very specialized and hard to understand. They're just a few from my collection, I have pictures of a few others.

And there are many books on my shelf that you probably haven't read as well.

So what?

Re: How many of these books have you read?

I can sympathize with the desire to be "well read" - though maybe not with this attempt to gloat about it - but its ultimately a silly idea. True familiarity with any given field of literature is made impossible by the shear number of publications, and relative familiarity is made impossible by dudes that read 400 pages an hour and never turn off.

The Social Contract, The Utopia, Locke and Hume are pretty much introductory texts for any first year art student at University.

The rest are probably familiar to any philosophy student, which I'm not, but I've read some bits and pieces from Aristotle, Trotsky and Foucault and a few others which I've already forgotten in various other classes that I've taken.

I'm not a philosophy student, broski. I don't even go to school..people who need to be taught have no business being scholars.

Re: How many of these books have you read?

I never said you did. I'm just saying more people than you might think have probably read some of those because of school.

I also kick myself every time I see this thread, because I read this book in one of my classes this year that you'd probably enjoy. Especially if you are still into the whole vegetarian/vegan thing. But I can't remember the title or author, and don't have it with me since I left it at school.

Bummer.

I'm a buddhist vegetarian these days. On my own I won't eat meat, but if I'm offered some I will.

Re: How many of these books have you read?

If you're interested I'll drop you a message with the title and author when I get back to school in a month or so. If I can remember that far into the future.
