Hannah Montana Rant

I hate her.

I hate her show, I hate her racism, I hate her songs, I hate her acting, I hate her show, I hate her toys, I hate her makeup.


Not only is she a terrible actress/singer, but the sexist messages her songs convey are stupid:

Obviously, a girl's role to be fall in love with every boy and wear pretty makeup and go to parties, yyaaaaaayy! Don't forget to buy the new Hannah Montana Goes Shopping (Again) Barbie (TM)!

I despise the fact that so many little girls love her and are probably thinking about the lyrics of her songs, thinking that *they* should be just like her. I despise the fact that, being I a preteen, I am supposed to be one of her brainwashed fans. I despise the fact that I can't turn on the TV, go outside, or enter a school without seeing her STUPID FACE. I despise the fact that she has several video games that are actually selling. I despise the role model she is for little girls.

I hate Hannah Montana.

She just wants attention and ****. She is ugly, I don't get how my friends could like her.

Personally, I think she's a great role model for little girls.she's not too sexed-up, she has a nice family dynamic/aspect to her, she is a pretty good singer, and she shows that girls can be cool and have fun without being sluts. She's a pretty typical 16 year-old, except she's a nice girl.

also keep in mind that she does not write her own songs.
and I find nothing wrong with the lyrics of that song you posted. it sounds to me like the song focuses on love's natural merits, what's real in life, and not the story-book stuff like taylor swift. it seems more realistic, and even having some christian undertones (she is Christian).

I approve of Miley. I do not listen to her music because it's not my thing, but I would have no problem letting my daughter listen to her and be a fan. HOWEVER- I would DEFINATELY be sure to not let my daughter buy into the mass-marketing, comemrcialization aspect of it, where the lunch box, book bag, clothing, folders, pencils, etc etc all have to be Miley. I would make it a learning experience for my child that it's important to like things for their substance and not the popularity of it. we'd talk about the song lyrics and life lessons and stuff, you know?
Attentive parenting. that's what it's all about.


PS- I've never seen her show.
PSS- Miley is NOT a racist. there was an asian person in the photo doing it with them. she's a young girl who, like all of us, will make mistakes, and be a little careless. She is only 16. she is growing up in real time just like many of you here. one day, you'll all look back on your young lives and realize how many dumb things you did r thought. I'm 25. I understand these things. She;s a falible human being, and that's another reason why I like her.

I have no feelings onw way or the other about Hannah Montanna, because I do not listen to music directed toward preteen girls. Live and let live.

If you are a guy and/or older than 10 and have an active hate for her, I laugh at you. Har har.

Is it really worth it to rant about it? I mean, if it was something people were forcing on you I could understand, but you can choose to not buy the products, listen to the her music or watch the television program.

The picture I think is harmless, maybe I'm insensitive but I find that no different than talking with a fake french accent or even a southern one for humorous effect.

She is a teenage girl making millions of dollars... it is simple envy what you guys feel.

Frankly, I don't care about her. Racism? No, stereotyping. Quit throwing the word racist around like you think you know what it means; you're twelve. Her music? Not a fan. Therefore, I don't listen to it. Simple. Her acting? Quite honestly, there are worse. When I see her, atleast she has energy. Hayden Christensen could be replaced with a cardboard box, for Christ's sake. Her toys? Frankly, she has a talent that people like, and she can make money from. She doesn't make the toys and mass-market them to people. Don't support her? Don't buy the toys. Simple. Her make-up? Don't use it.

Teenagers should stop being individuals by hating everything other people like. It makes them look like asses.

Miley Cyrus is having a more positive influence on the world than all of your hateful ranting is. She is out there having a successful career while you're expressing your excessive hatred for her on a forum.

I have no idea if the actress is actually anything like the character she portrays, but the character is disgustingly, almost nauseatingly stereotypical, idiotic, and substance-less. That young girls are following her as a role model makes me very sad, but such are the ways of Disney; frankly there is little we can do to them but show our desire for change. At least with some of their newer films they are starting to acknowledge the fact that the world does not revolve entirely around rich, white characters served by racialised caricatures.
