What are you looking forward to most this 2009 NFL season?

What item are you most looking forward to most this coming NFL season? Give your answer and tell us why you feel that way. Personally i think its gonna be a great season this year and am looking forward to all the options above, but mostly just rooting for my Bears. I'm excited with the offseason moves that the Bears Execs have made and the progress the team/coaches are making with the OTAs. Cant wait for spring training!

I'm most excited to see what the Packers defense will look like now that we're shifting to the 3-4. Despite the fact that he's a little uncomfortable at this point, I think Aaron Kampman is going to be a real force in the pass rush now that he's the hybrid player.

We've got veteran corners, playmaking safetys, big-name linebackers, and powerful linemen. Maybe we can finally stop the run!

Yeah its gonna be nice having the NFC North back to how it should be, Packers and Bears battling for top spot. Looking forward to 2 more rival games.

It'll be fun to go see TO in Buffalo, even if he is a douche.

Haha, i think everyone feels that way about T.O. and that his career stats are the only thing keeping him in the NFL. I'm sure other teams that were looking into getting him before he went to Buffalo realized that they'd rather not have all that drama in their franchise. I sure as hell don't want him in Chicago.

Oh?
Well do you want either Plaxicco Burress and his self-inflicted gun wound, or Brandon Marshall and his beat-up fiancee? Becuase the Bears are looking at both....

Personally, I'd take the guy who stole and ate Al Harris's lunch in the NFC championship game a year back. Plus, the possibility of him being in jail for three years though is looking slimmer by the day.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to seeing Fitz break the Madden Curse. Even if he does go down, we still got Boldin and Kurt. The NFC West should already be in the bag.

Also: I expect a break-out/pro bowl year for the Giant's third year receiver Steve Smith. The guy is going to turn into Eli's very own Marvin Harrison.

Heh he's done it more than once. Harris' best days are behind him. Tramon Williams will probably be starting come November or so.

Wouldn't be so sure about that.
Your defense doesn't look so hot, and Seattle's gotten better.

They're completely different styles of reciver though. He's more of a ...Laveranues Coles.

Re: What are you looking forward to most this 2009 NFL season?

I'm most excited to see the Broncos going back to being the Broncos, a team that is focused around running the ball, short passing and an at least decent defensive play. Now I'm not delusional, I know the Broncos won't have the best D in the league but it will certainly be an improvement (in both scheme and personnel) over last season's and will only get better over time.

I'm excited to see what we get for Marshall (selfish crybaby we could do without).

I'm excited for the Bears at Denver in the third preseason game. I'm excited for the regular season to start and finally I'm excited to finally see some change in the Denver Broncos rather than the stagnant crap we've become accustom to in recent times.

Dude: Warner, Fitz and Boldin (with a special guest appearance by Beanie Wells). We don't exactly need our D to be the Iron Curtain to win games.

Plus, it's Seattle. It's pretty much the zombie of sports towns. Not to mention that their new Head coach inspires about as much fear as the likes of Tim Cable, Denny Green and Brad Childress.

I'm more worried about what Spags is bringing to the Rams, but I don't see them being a threat until they find someone more reliable than Bulger.

I meant likening him to the short yet reliable class act safety net that Harrison was, as opposed to his previous main target who was tall yet shot himself in the - yeah.

Boldin may not play.

Say what you will. They got (maybe) the best player available in the draft in Aaron Curry to stiffen up that run D, and they added Housh in the passing game.

Or at LEAST someone for him to throw to. Their WR corps might be worse than the Bears.

neither actually, Burress is probably looking for a 1 year deal before he goes to jail, where as the Bears are probably looking for long term. I think they're happy with what they got. Yeah, their WRs are young, but thats why we drafted so many for that position. The acquiring of Jay/Pace were probably the only 2 major trades we'll be looking at for this season. Not to say we'll be looking at other options further down the road, but i think it s enough for now. Having a franchise QB is a big deal, seeing as how out last was ol' Sid Luckman back in the 30's/40's. As far as Marshall, i know for a fact he wont be in Chicago, he's asking for too much, there's no room in our salary cap.

I like the Vikings. I love AP. Their fans throw the best gameday cookouts (tied with Saints fans). So I hate to see them shoot down their franchise by picking up Favre, which seems like it's gonna happen any minute now.

At this point, TJack's pretty much broken beyond repair, so if you're going to go after a probowl QB who either throws TDs or games, go after Derrick Anderson. He'll last longer than either Favre or Rosencopter (games, not just seasons), and he won't be afraid to throw downfield like TJack.

Well then the feelings are mutual both ways. You have your Rugby, we have our NFL. That's also why i put an "I don't watch American football" option in the poll.

That's because Rosenhaus specializes in getting new contracts (which Boldin is clearly not going to get) not forcing trades.

Only the out of shape ones.
Before his injury last year, Al Harris of the Packers had literally been on the field for 97% of Green Bay's defensive plays in his career with them.

Rooting for my team, of course.

If Pittsburgh wins another Super Bowl, they'd be the team of the decade! At least that's what my stepdad, another hardcore Steelers fan, said to me. xP

I'd also like to see the Patriots keep getting their asses handed to them because they're such cheaters and morons for cheating. I've always hated them and will always enjoy seeing them lose. ^^

Yeah after that whole incident, they've revealed their true selves to the NFL community. There were numerous times when the first string was kept in the game when it wasnt necessary. Racking up the points is kinda rubbing it in the opponents face, at least to me it is. Tom Brady backing out of the pro-bowl due to the fact they lost the Super Bowl, dude's a cry baby.

But it would also be nice if Pittsburgh would share the Lombardy Trophy every once in a while.
