Hockey v. Football: Which is more dangerous?

There isn't a sports section so I figured this would be the place?

Well, my friends and I have debated this subject multiple times, but never come up with a conclusion. I suppose the real answer will never be known, but I wanted to hear what you all had to say.

Both sports are contact sports, and lots of things can definitely go wrong while playing, (i.e. broken legs, sprained wrists, etc.) but which is more dangerous?

I think hockey wins this one. Why? Three things; skates, puck, sticks.
Skates can cut throats, it's been done at least twice.
Pucks can and will hit you anywhere and everywhere, including the face.
The reason for sticks should be obvious.

EDIT: I mean American Football.

We usually just talk about Hockey and Football, so it didn't even cross my mind.
Even if I did, I'd still say Hockey.

So does football, which is why we never came to a conclusion.

I think this would perhaps be better suited in the misc. entertainment board. So away it goes.

Oh, I read that as "Music." sorry.

Hockey: if your not wearing all your equiptment you can get hit in hurtful places with the stick. Huhhh!

I'd have to go with hockey. Getting tackled could break a few bones, but getting hit in the face with a hockey puck could give you brain damage.

Hockey most definitly, due to the fact that you're dealing with more equipment, and sharp skates.

I've played both sports, and I've gotten way more sore after the day ended in hockey, then I ever would in a week of football.That and hockey has to be my main sport over all, but in hockey ice is way harder then astroturf/grass. Most of the people in hockey are over 6 feet, and carry sticks. And if anyone here has ever played hockey, they'd know the practices are way tougher.
Plus getting checked into the boards hurts, or getting boarded hurts even worse.

Hockey is way more physical then any sport imaginable, except for maybe rugby.

Pro Hockey players have died more often that Pro Football players. So Hockey wins.

Both are very physical games but I'm going to go with Hockey,2 NHL players with already been slashed in the throat with a skate of course that rarely happens.

Thats why I love Hockey. Its dangerous. I could see my self throwing body checks and nailing people at center Ice .
