The Lord of the Rings and Related Literature

Here we honor one of the greatest contributors to fantasy fiction of all time, J.R.R Tolkien, and his works.

well, since i don't know where to start, I'll just start with my favoritestestest tale from J.R.R. Tolkien, "The Tale of Tinuviel." Why? Because of the awesomeness of Luthien Tinuviel. Arwen wishes she were as epic as her.

She helped bring down Sauron, then helped Beren steal the Silmarils from Morgoth, and lived to tell about it, then gave up her immortal life to be with her love Beren.

.. and on the tomb stone of Tolkien himself, it says "Beren". On his wife's it says Luthien.

Yes, I'm a great fan of his works. I even met my girlfriend through a Norwegian fan forum. They hold a gathering once a year where people dress in cloaks and the like^^ Ted Nasmith (illustrator of the Silmarillion) was there two years =D

My user name means dark elf in Quenya.

Lord of the Rings. Probably one of the best fantasy trilogies out there. However, I never read any of Tolkien's other work. ;(

Actually I think the literature is too deep for me. I've tried many times but still can't get it started smoothly

Tried the Hobbit?
It's a much easier read =)

The Lord of the Rings takes time to read, it's written in very great detail =p

The Hobbit is much more...lighthearted than that of Lord of the Rings.
