This might not count, but I started reading the illegally translated Haruhi Suzimiya light novels. And I absolutely love these books. Hell, if Nick Carraway was a Japanese teenager, he'd be Kyon, the narrator.

If you haven't heard of the series/anime before: Long story short, Haruhi is a highschool girl with ability to bend the universe to her will, though she does not know it. Along for the ride are an alien, a time traveler, an esper, and a quick-witted, cynical narrator.

Its fast and entertaining reading, and probably the only place you'll be able to find a baseball game where either you win or the universe is erased.

Re: What book are you reading?

I have to read 3 books for school:
Peter Pan
Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass
Ender's Game

Then there's these three books I bought before recieving these:
The Catcher in the Rye
Beyond Good and Evil
The Communist Mannifesto

Then there's these three Dummy's books I got as a gift:
Guide to Music Composition
Chinese
Calculus

And Lastly, there's this one I borrowed from someone:
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Altogether that makes 10 books I have to read, by the end of summer... 3 of wich are due at the end of this month. I'm a little overwhelmed.

I changed my name; Deku Prince sounds weird without the knowledge that it's a character in a fanfic I tried... and failed... epicly failed.

Blazing through Ender's Game and Peter Pan shouldn't take too long, lucky guy. The Life of Frederick Douglass however.... well, on the bright side, its short. Be happy your reading that and not Uncle Tom's Cabin.

And in case you think the Zelda timeline is bad, you can essentially throw continuity out the window when reading these Adams books!
Wait, you have Marvin as your avatar...and you've never read the books?

Anyways, the books make considerably more sense the second time through. I highly recommend re-reading them all the instant you finish the last one. Suddenly the timeline and all that will make perfect sense.

Well, okay, as much sense as anything from tHHGttG can.

Yeah, you've got to re-read them. I can't remember how many time I've re-read them, but it's a lot

If you had Marvin but hadn't read the books, I assume you only saw the film? Man, that film. I've never seen a book adaptation make things up so shamelessly XD

Re: What book are you reading?

I'm reading Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery, because I'm a nerd like that. Accually my aunt gave it to me to read so I'm trying to get it done. Just really haven't had the time to read and it doesn't really intrest me that much right now. I'm in to books about loss and love. The Child Called It books are really good because like I said I'm into books about loss.

Re: What book are you reading?

I LOVE ANNE OF GREEN GABLES.

Man, I first read that one ages ago, and I always go back to it every now and then. I just absolutely adore it.

I just bought a copy of William Thackery's Vanity Fair, because I always wanted to read it. I have to do my school reading first, though. Boo to that.

Re: What book are you reading?

Have you read Anne of Avonlea and Anne's House of Dreams as well?

Right Now I'm finding it a bit... different I guess you would say because she always thinks about random things she isn't s'pose to be thinking about and doing.

Re: What book are you reading?

I'm reading "Search For the Red Dragon, " part of the Chronicals of the Imaginarium Geographica by James A. Owen for the second time.
It's really cool, but the fact I can't get over is that Pete Pan grows up!

Re: What book are you reading?

I'm currently reading The Glass House, a memoir by a woman by the name of Jeannette Walls. My god she had the most, for lack of a better term, ****ed up childhood. Both of her parents, especially her father, are geniuses, and the kids themselves are as well, but they grow up completely impoverished, moving around a lot, and just...wow. If it wasn't a memoir I wouldn't believe a word of it.

Highly reccomended, and I'm not even finished yet.

Re: What book are you reading?

Armor, by John Steakley. I've wanted to read it for a few years now, and couple of weeks ago I finally got around to picking up a copy. I'm only about 1/4 through with it, but I've enjoyed it thus far. Still adjusting to the story's abrupt switch from Felix to 'Jack Crow', but I'm sure I'll get more comfortable as I go on.

On the side, I'm working through the Devil's Due comic adaptation of The Icewind Dale Trilogy by R.A. Salvatore, along with the Green Lantern: Rebirth miniseries.

Re: What book are you reading?

Let's see...

Dune, Chindi, The Children of Hurin, The Scarlet Letter, Catch-22, Omega, The Sword of Shannara Trilogy, The People of Sparks, The EarthSea Trilogy, The Silmarillion, Inkspell, Thr3e, The Foundation Trilogy, and others, I'm sure.

I'm really bad at starting, not finishing, and starting another one.

Its either that or Ender's Shadow, I'm leaning towards Ender's Shadow, because I've already read Ender's Game multiple times.

Re: What book are you reading?

If you haven't read Ender's Shadow then read that. I've read that like twenty times as well, and it likewise is still awesome every time.

Plus, you're basically reading the same book from a different perspective.

The book of three was a good book, but I have not read any of the the other books in the series yet. Lloyd Alexander is a king of his craft.

Re: What book are you reading?

I just finished The Stand by Stephen King, and am now reading Cell by Stephen King.

Cell is about cell phones causing anyone who uses them to go crazy and start attacking people. One guy chewed the ear off of a dog, and a thirteen year old girl bit into a womans neck and killed her.

The Stand is about how a disease got out when the government was experimenting with biological warfare. For an unknown reason, there were some immunities, and they all come together in two groups.
