I am too, I was so sad when the last movie came out and then the next year I didn't have anything to do on boxing day I also really like the books too I've lost count of how many times I've read them now.

I also have the 3 uncut sets!

I didn't like how much stuff they cut out in the last movie. I wanted to see the scourging of the shire, I was disappointed.

Yeah that would have been nice but I guess it was kinda the same as how they cut out the whole Tom Bombadil story from FOTR.

I understand it's next to impossible to put everything in the movies but it frustrated me how they changed some of the little things too, one that springs to mind is that in the books Aragorn carries around the shards of Narsil with him and in the movie they're on display at Rivendell. I think that could have been put in the movie without too much trouble.

I like LOTR. I read the books occasionally and also watch the movies sometimes. And I to hate how much stuff they took out of the movies that where in the books.

Well I guess Jackson didn't see it important enough to show in the original cuts of the movie although Saruman was shown falling from Orthanc and the palatir falling from his sleeve in the extended version of the TTT. Even so in the book Grima throws the palatir at Gandalf's company it doesn't simply fall into the water and they find it.

I do agree that it should have made the original cut though it would have helped with the explanation of the palatir because without his death it just kinda shows up.

The extended versions add alot more, well worth buying, if you can handle sitting through movies that long. Anyone read the Silmarillion? I currently looking for it to purchase, I haven't read it yet.

Actually, that never happened in the book. They're talking about things that happened in the book that were not put into the movies.

LotR is over-rated. The movies even more so than the books. The troll Aragorn fights in RotK was originally SAURON. This shows how stupid Peter Jackson can be, replacing what could have been one of the movie's most dramatic battles, and they replaced Sauron with a troll. Shame, shame, shame.

I haven't read the books, but the movies are all right. I did manage to read "The Hobbit" 10 years go, and watched the cartoon movie. It was kind of funny because of the in movie songs and all. Will there actually be another movie on this?

Same here. I don't like how much they left out of the books and changing interesting things from the book. Other than that the movies were good. I enjoyed them without any repercussions of disappointment.

...Aragorn never fought Sauron. That would be impossible. Sauron never left Barad-dûr, and Aragorn never went into Barad-dûr. Sauron was never seen by any of the characters (apart from the "Eye" of Sauron) and never came into contact with any of the characters.

I think the hobbit was the best book out of all of them. I think the movies were flawlessly executed. Jackson had to cut somthings. Or it would've been 4 hours plus. THese movies were amazing he didn't f up the movies like most book movies such as eragon now that movie sucked nads and they cut everything.
