Favorite Books

What are your favorite books?

Right now I am reading Inkspell, and it is the best book I've ever read.
I am also into reading mystery books. Some of the best are by Joan Lowery Nixon.

Re: Favorite Books

No doubt about it. The inheritence series by Christopher Paolini. I also like the Shannar Series by Terry Brooks, and The Redwall series by Brian Jaques.

Re: Favorite Books

Anything by Stephan King. Horror and thriller novles get me and his style of writing is waht I admire. He writes through they eyes of any character and uses subtle hints about the personality of the character. I've been reading The Stand for quite a while as the book is pretty damn long.

Stephen King is brilliant indeed. Can't go wrong with a bit of Philip K. Dick and Oscar Wilde as well

Meh. I don't read that much. But maybe "Dreamland" by Sarah Dessan. It's sad. Or the "Uglies" trilogy.

Re: Favorite Books

Charles de Lint is the most addictive fantasy author ever.
O.R. Melling is simply magical.
Brain Jacques' style is great.

*add others which I have forgotten right now*

Hmm, I seem to have cited only authors... oh well.

I'll read anything by Stephen King or by R.A. Salvatore.

I also really enjoy the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan.

Re: Favorite Books

Yay BOOKS!

I adore anything by Tamora Pierce. Her Trickster's Choice/Queen books completely had me. I loved them. <3

I also just recently discovered the Earthsea books. Must buy the rest of those sometime...

I was looking at that. My sister's reading them, and it looks kind of interesting, despite the whole put-off of dealing with Uglies and Pretties. XD

Oy ve...favorite books?

Hmm...well...definately Twilight and New Moon by Stephenie Meyer. They were awesomous!.

Now...I just finished reading this one book called The Surgeon...but I cannot remember what the author's name is, and it is driving me mad!! Anywho, that's another favorite.

And, of course, the Maggie O'Dell series by Alex Kava.

Re: Favorite Books

Some of the series I think are pretty rad

-Harry Potter
-Inheritance
-Circle of Magic, Circle Reforged, Circle..err, the third one?
-Artemis Fowl
-Septimus Heap
-The Alchemist's Son
-Gideon Trilogy
-Bartimeaus Trilogy
-Alex Rider
-Charlie Bone
-Series of Unfortunate Events
-Lord of the Rings
-Louis Sachar's Books
-Redwall Books
-Pendragon
-Maximum Ride
-Lost Years of Merlin
-Great Tree of Avalon
-Keys to the Kingdom
-Monster Blood Tattoo
-Books of Ember
-Er..there were some books by the name of "The High King" , and "Black Cauldron" , and "Book of Three" can't remember the name of the series, and the same author had another book about some Prince and him giving gifts...

Those were the ones off the top of my head

I'm kind of hoping to expand my borders onto other books beside fiction and fantasy ones...

Re: Favorite Books

Harry Potter series, especially #3. Whenever i read those books i feel so at home...nostalgic, i guess.

1984....oh, how it still haunts me....such a traumatizing book. how i love it! Seriously, this is one everyone should read (this and Brave New World), because once you read it, you will see this stuff happening everywhere. Oppression, propaganda, corruption, torture, brainwashing, war, an omnipotent government ...what a fun book! Yay!

Farenheit 451....just love those nighmarish, futuristic tales.

a Clockwork Orange. brainwashing is horrifying....and so naturally im facinated with it.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Its great because not only is every scene ludicrious, but every sentence is absurd! great to read when im bored at work.

anything by David Sedaris (Naked, Me Talk Pretty One Day, Dress Your Family in Courderoy and Denim...i know there are others) he is so funny and smart.

I need to read more...
