Re: Favorite Books

I love Stephen King... Well to behonest I have only read one of his books. But I have seen some of the movies and such.

But I just finished The Dead Zone today during class. I know i should have been working but... I was almost done! It actualy brought me to tears. I dont really know why. Either way it was a great story. One of my favorites.

Also I enjoyed:
The Harry Potter series.
Inherittence Trilogy
A Seperate Piece.
The Radical Wave
The Only Alien on the Planet(think that was the name of it)
To Kill A Mocking Bird

Some other books also.

Re: Favorite Books

Perfect Dark Second Front by Greg Rucka
The second tie in novel for the perfect dark series once again detailing the peroid between Perfect Dark Zero and the N64 original. Mainly concerned with Cassandra De Viries path from idealistic micro manager to cold corporate ***** and Joanna's path to mature more sophisticated woman while she deals with unexpected fall out from the Zero storyline. While no one can accuse this of being a life changing title that examines the human condition, being more concerned with action and explosions, it does however offer quite an intelligent look at a world run by corporations where their is both benefit and loss. At least one passage has inspired me to create a serious discussion thread. The story is contrasted by the corporate version of events in the form of fake press releases and media analyisis come at the end of some chapters.

The End of Eternity by Isaac Asimov
While his robot and foundation series shall always be remembered as his primary body of work I am a fan of his other works. In this case a story about a null time space called eternity the monitors time and has begun making reality changes to prevent war and conflict and any over armegedons. A man in charge of these changes prepares to risk to exiestance of reality its self to safe a woman he fell in love with from one of these reality changes which would make her no existant (at least the particular version he fell in love with). After the typical mind bending truth about how eternity came into existance, because we all know sooner or later a pardox happens when playing with the fourth dimension, it is revealed the girl's love has exteriour motives. Does our hero play it safe and continue the relative comfort of eternity or does he risk it all and reach for infinety? The final revelation on the science books calls Nucleonics is wonderful. Essentailly the book boil down to wether man as a whole or individual sshould play it safe or take those risks that either lose everything or have the maximum possible rewards.

I recently finished Wolverine:Weapon X. A story of Wolverine from the X-Men.

It was quite amazing, and I recommend it to anyone who is a big fan of X-Men. :]

Re: Favorite Books

The Gilded Chain by Dave Duncan is one of the best fantasy books that I've ever read. Give it a try if you get bored of dragons, elves and other LOTR-style stories.

I don't think you'll be disappointed!

I don't recommend this book for children, though.

Recently its all about Philip K Dick. Some good old philosophy and sci fi.

Now wait for last year - Philip K Dick, probably the best ive read of him.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - Hunter S Thompson - insanity.
LOTR and Silmarrilion oh yeah. Woot.
The Iliad. a classic. Totally pwns the damn Aeneid.
And always some good old Plato

Re: Favorite Books

Right now im completely into books of Raymond E. Feist, Magician's probably the best book i've ever read (yes, i think its better than anything Tolkien has written. i think thats saying something ((could be that i just have weird tastes of course )))
And im midway its follow-up Silverthorn so far very interesting, tough a lot more action driven than the first book.

And of course the Harry Potter books Love those too.
