Re: Favorite Books

I've replied before, but I've read a few book since then (and remembered some I've read before), so here's my updated list (in no particular order):
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
  • Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
  • Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
  • A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Bad Begining
  • A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Vile Village
  • A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Hostile Hospital
  • A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Ersatz Elevator
  • A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Carnivorous Carnival
  • Alanna: The First Adventure
  • In the Hand of the Goddess
  • The Witch's Boy
  • The Thief Lord

I think that's all...

Re: Favorite Books

*smacks forehead*

That's what I forgot! Discworld!

And while I'm at it, I'll throw in the Chronicles of Narnia and first three Silver Brumby stories. Technically kids books, I know, but old favourites that I missed a lot when I didn't have them.

I Love Anne Rice, she's amazing.
If you like vampire stories read Twilight by Stephenie Meyer!
My friend just borrowed it and she loves it!

Re: Favorite Books

Just finished a new book *-* It's called the antichrist by Friedrich Nietzseche it's really good if you like stories about philosophy and the guy's nuts... Yeah he's veeery crazy, he ended up in a place where they send those crazy people :XD I'd say he's a bit like Hitler x3 but the book is really interesting (not for those who are religious though)

Re: Favorite Books

Tamora Pierce = win.

The Trickster pair are particularly good, as are the recent Will of the Empress and the Immortals series.

Also, Ian Irvine - Torments of the Traitor and Sally Gardiner - I, Coriander are excellent reads.

Re: Favorite Books

Oh, definitely Nancy Drew! She's the coolest detective ever! Her cases are just so intense, interesting, and exciting. Nancy Drew is definitely my favorite book series! I also like:

-Junie B. Jones
-Fudge (Double Fudge, Fudge Mania, Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great, etc.)
-Amber Brown
-The Boxcar Children
-Chronicles of Narnia
-Scooby Doo and You Mysteries

Yeah, I tend to like childish series, but hey, I don't care. Although there are a few books that aren't childish that I'll read. I just won't read anything too scary.

The author Jodi Picoult is amazing. I absolutely love her book "My Sister's Kepper." It's really good, but also really sad. I almost cried at the end.

Re: Favorite Books

I read plenty so this list is pretty sketchy. In no real order-

> White Oleander, Janet Fitch
> Hitchhikers Guide, all 5, best one is probably the first for me, or the last.
> The Picture of Dorian Gray, Oscar Wilde
> Pride and Prejudice, Austen
> Anything by Tamora Pierce, ever (But the Lioness Quartet has a special place in my heart). I've read it all but the first two of the Daine quartet, which are proving elusive.
> Kushiels Dart and Kushiels.. darn, i forget the name of the second one. Uh-oh. Anyway, Jaqueline Carey.
> Anne of Green Gables, L.M. Montgomery (Freakin' classic)

Uh, thats all i can remember.

Re: Favorite Books

I don't read too much. Shakespeare is tight, though. Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Oedipus the King, The Odyssey, those kind of tales. Unfortunately I only read them once but was amazed nonetheless. A few times I'll read The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.

Re: Favorite Books

The Redemption of Althalus by David Eddings is my all-time favorite book, but just about anything by Eddings is good. Along with Anthony, Brooks, and Adams.

Illium by Dan Simmons is great.

And The Blue Nowhere by Jeffery Deaver is amazing.

Brave New World By Aldous Huxley is awesome, nice look at society.

The Otherland Series by Tad Williams is great Scifi fantasy series.

Stranger in a Strange Land by Rober Heinlein is amazing.

The Midnighters Trilogy by Scott Westerfield is a fun read.
