Favorite Comic Book Hero and Villain

What's your favorite comic book hero and villain? Like maybe DC and Marvel together, or fav DC/Marvel characters. For DC, it's Flash, Superman, Bats and Lex Luthor, Brainiac, The Joker and Two Face. For Marvel, it's Spidey, FF, Wolverine, Hobgoblin and Carnage. (And I read the comix! The fanshy panshy new movies that sum up the origins and stuff make the comix funky!)

I've been a big Spiderman fan so obviously my favorite hero is Spiderman. I'd say my favorite villian though would have to be Venom or Green Goblin.

Re: Favorite Comic Book Hero and Villain

Here goes my list (WARNING: Big list full of fangirl babble):

Blue Beetle: Beetle is one of the best comic superheroes. His is a story of trying to accomplish what these guys like Superman are doing, but he has no powers, no special abilities. Doing it all because of a promise he made. And yet he manages to be as strong as Batman, and more human than any of the other guys, while obviously insecure about himself. He's adorable and funny, and immediately likeable.

Booster Gold: Booster is just darn cute. He's just a great character, who made a few mistakes in the past, but makes up for it in his own unique fashion. He's got a tiny robot buddy and is more clever than he would like to let on. When he's with Beetle (which is most of the time), the two of them together are an inseparable team of the most loveable sorts.

Deadpool: Sure, the guy is basically a vehicle for obscure pop culture references and fourth-wall breakage half the time. But who can't fall in love with the brain-damaged merc with a mouth? He's got some layers: from dealing with his deteriorating mental facilities to shrinking the Rhino down to the size of a keychain (and using him for exactly for that purpose).

Plastic Man: The first comic book character I was ever interested in. He's the only one with an origin story that has stayed so true to itself that the very dialogue and panel layout hasn't changed in those 60-some years he's been around. He was one of the very first comic heroes. He's the original stretchy guy, and an immortal shapeshifter (his overactive imagination is his only limit), and yet makes himself the comedy-relief guy. There's much more to him than his jokes and imagination, though. The introduction of his son is one of the most moving one-issue comics I've ever read. I cried.

Multiple Man: I loved his powers first, then got to know the character. I'm still learning about him. He's a normal guy. Who can create copies, manifestations of different personality aspects, when he's hit, or he hit's something else. He is also awesome.

Superman: This guy is the original, the classic. Batman wouldn't exist if this guy hadn't been made, Spider-Man wouldn't- none of the other heroes would. People misunderstand him, unfortunately, but that's to be expected from a character who has become more than just a character, but an icon.

Also, Maxwell Lord. He's not techincally a superhero or villain, though.

Well, Todd McFarlane, a Spidey artist, totally revolutionized the wall-crawler with exaggerated poses, hot chicks, and great details of the villains. I mean, everyone loved Spidey's web-swingin, but when Todd came to the scene, he just made it so awesome, I can't even describe it. Heehee. but Superman's cool too. Hey, didja see the last season of Smallville? It was so friggn awesome!! But the episode Redemtion, I think.. Or something like that when John Kent dies, it was kinda dumb when Clark couldn't do like what you said to turn back time, or just run so fast, it turns the world back... Hmm, I guess that'd be a job for the Flash... Did you see that episode?! lol

Re: Favorite Comic Book Hero and Villain

Spider-man is the best in my book. Whats better then a guy swinging on a web through a city? Villan would have to be Doctor Octopus. He was the coolest cause he most looks like an octopus.

Re: Favorite Comic Book Hero and Villain

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm . . .

DC Heros: #1.Flash, #2.Booster Gold (he's cool), #3Green Arrow, Not-Superman
DC Villains: Brainiac (poor selection)

Marvel Heros: #5.Beast, #4.Nightcrawler, #3.Angel/Archangel, #2.Iron Man, #1.GAMBIT!
Marvel Villains: #3.Mysterio, #2.Carnage, #1.VENOM!

Other Comics: Nny (Johnny from JTHM), and Squee (JTHM and Squee!)

P.S. The reason I hate Superman is because he is TOO powerful, he has like 20 different beams that shoot out of his eyes, he could lift a small village with his weak hand, and the only thing that can hurt him is Kryptonite! Which only like one human being posseses, and he got cancer for keeping it too long! Plus he can't really fly, he can just jump for a long time because of the gravitational differance between planets.

Re: Favorite Comic Book Hero and Villain

Huh... That's a good theory about Superman's flying ability, Agent Mothman. And you are right about Superman being too powerful. But he was the first superhero ever, basically, and he was made in the '30's. I guess all those powers got split up and placed into other heroes along the comic book timeline. lol, so if it wasn't for him, I guess the comic book buisness wouldn't have really taken off! Don't get me wrong, I still respect your desicion
