Baseball Thread (2006 Edition)
It's spring training time again. Players are out getting ready for the upcoming season. It's time to discuss.
However, there is one thing that must be discussed before moving on: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slu...yhoo&type=lgns Can't believe such a talent is gone. That was a shocker. To me, I will always remember watching Twins games when the Sox played them, and saw a small outfielder amaze us with his glove and his bat as well. He will be missed. This thread should be utilized by fans around the nation and the world. The World Baseball Classic has already started, with Korea moving on from Pool A: http://www.worldbaseballclassic.com/...ex.jsp?sid=wbc Who's gonna win that, along with with the 2006 MLB Season. Here is your chance to discuss. (I locked the old thread, as i bumped it without success)

Re: Baseball Thread (2006 Edition)
Looking at the WBC, the DR is scareing the **** out of me. Even without Manny, they are still an impressive starting nine. I doubt there will be any steamrolling, but I predict a somewhat sound victory for the Dominican. But then again, Cuba always surprises. We haven't really seen any of them play, so we'll have to wait and watch. Go USA!
Looking to the MLB regular season, it's tough to call. There are the usual cast of perenials that you can predict like the Braves and the Yankees, but the MLB always shows that you can't call a winner. I'm hoping the Dodger's method of buy everyone who is expensive caves in and they suck so that the Giants can kick some ass. We can always hope for that. And my hats off to Puckett. He was a true gamer and a legendary great. A friend of mine who used to live in Minnesoda has a signed homerun ball of his. I always drool all over it when I go over to his house. He will certianly be missed. *21 homer salute* |

Re: Baseball Thread (2006 Edition)
The cubs are looking supremely unimpressive this year, especially considering they are in a division with the Cards and the Astros. Their only reasonable chance is if both Wood and Prior come back in better shape than ever and the rest of their team does some serious cowboying.
I'm sick of the steriod thing. I just want to watch the game, not hear about how all the players are scumbags. |

Re: Baseball Thread (2006 Edition)
Yeah, I can't wait for the season to start. But, recently losing Dish, I can't watch many of the games. Go Mariners!
