Edgar Allan Poe
Although I have only read a couple of poems by Edgar Allan Poe he's already my favourite writer! So far my favourite poem is "The Raven".
Is anyone else here familiar with his work and what poems etc. do you like? If so please post!

Re: Edgar Allan Poe
I am familiar with a few of his works. I have never read "The Raven" myself, but I have heard much about it.
The only works of his that comes to my mind right now would be "Annabel Lee" and "The Tell-Tale Heart." Edgar had a very hard life and expresses it in his poems. If you know anything about his life you know it was full of death, poverty, and depression. Disturbed work from a disturbed man. Nonetheless, he was an excellent writer. |

Re: Edgar Allan Poe
I've read the Raven, the Masque of Red Death, The Black Cat, and some other crap. We studied Gothic Literature for a time last year in my Language Arts class. His work was interesting, but it was too disturbing and creepy for me to grasp.

Re: Edgar Allan Poe
I had to to a presentation about him. Did you know he was found wondering the streets, deranged and died a few days latter. He wond up becoming like one of his stories.
He has a lot of emotional issues, and takes it out in his wrighting. The man was a great wrighter, perhaps one of the best, and one of my personal favorites.
