And here I go about Final Fantasy, haha.
Aaah, seriously get Final Fantasy VIII and IX for PS1. For now, FFX-2 is actually a pretty
good place to start since you already have it, because it has similar areas and the same summons as X. I personally think VII is WILDLY over-rated, because it's the first 3D one. It's the equivalent of
OoT for Zelda. But it's still an amazing game, nonetheless.
I suggest you play: VIII, IX, VII, X, (of course) X-2, XI is online so you wouldn't like that - it's bland for Final Fantasy, XII I haven't played, but it looks good.
Also, if you have a DS, get III and IV. And if you don't feel bad about it, you can emulate the earlier ones. But i STRONGLY recommend playing VI. It's also on PS1 but it's 2D. Ahh, VI is amazing.
Sorry about that random rant, I read your post and I love FF games ^_^.
Also about RE series:
I only played 4 myself too, and it's a
lot 'easier' than the other games. The first ones are absolutely huge games, imagine an RPG sized world, only it's one huge town infested with zombies and stuff. You have to go around, looking constantly for ways to progress through locked doors (sometimes you find a key for a door you saw about 6 hours earlier in the game). They're really scary to play because of the hard to move around controls, and the camera angles - despite their graphics. I suggest getting 2 or 3 for PS1 if you don't get scared by them. I just watched my brother when i was like 10 or 11 do it, a lot easier for me haha. You do get guns and stuff like that of course, and for saving you have to use typewriters like in 4, only you need to find ink reels which are usable items, then find a typewriter and save it. If you don't have any ink reels, you can't save the game. Pretty harsh, huh?
