To be entirely fair, he said OoT/AoL were created to give the feel that the Towns were named after the Sages. He didn't explicitly state that it was true today, but he didn't say his intentions had changed. The interviewer concluded that LoZ/AoL is after OoT, and Aonuma didn't contradict that.

Like I said in the thread, the other major problem is that aLttP GBA says that no one who went looking for the Sacred Realm ever returned until the time of the Seal War.
