Ah, you drive a fair point. It's really cheap, and it's really high quality, so wtfnr?
Anyway, yeah, I know my cars a LOT better than I know my computers, so yes, I'm well aware that diesel trucks get better mileage. Hers is a diesel, and it gets 15 average, prolly near the 20-22 on the freeway.
And yeah, diesel engines don't have to work very hard, and last exponentially longer. Too bad diesel costs so damn much more. It's actually like a fraction of the price of gasoline to make. It does have seventy thousand miles and a was in pretty bad need of maintenance, that probably effected it, and hers wasn't modded in the slightest.
I know there are a million things you can do to your truck to make it go faster, but the power-to-weight ratio is still pretty much **** in comparison to smaller cars. Just seem altogether more practical, but man you got an excellent truck for a really good price. And man will that thing last you for quite some time. Cummins are well known for that.
The moderators of this fine forum have had their panties in extraordinarily tight knots as of late, so I don't think we can continue our little talk in the scrapbook thread. So I'll talk to ya here.
Ford Make some damned excellent trucks. I drive one, and it's pretty extraordinary considering what it's been through.
Gasoline and Diesel are nearly the same thing- Diesel is just a by-product of the gasoline-making process that costs exponentially less to make.
Bigger trucks seem kind of inconvenient. Less mileage, harder to drive, park, poor acceleration, more expensive to maintain, more expensive in general, and don't have a lot of passenger space. I mean, it's great if you wanna haul something, travel through a foot of snow, go off-roading, clean your yard, or have a little extra safety.
Just under thirty, though? That's really, really nice mileage. Why does it get so good? My aunt's got a 250-Super Duty Ford that gets an average of 15. Is something wrong with hers?
