Oh, no, of course not. Piercing are becoming pretty common, more so for girls, but you certainly wouldn't get kicked out of a resturnant because of them.

There's a little something that my exchange student friends and I like to call our 外人 (gaijin, foreigner) card. It's essentially the get out of jail free card that says, "Oh, I didn't know that 'casue I'm not from around these parts."

And then I thought, the only one who decides what I should feel is me, so if addiction makes me crack a giggle when society says it should cause shame- then I giggle at society as well ^^

As for Japan, I realized that I bought waaaayyyyy too much stuff, and I can't take all of it home. So there's many things (clothing especially) that i've bought new, only used once, and am giving away. Sounds wasteful, but it's rather liberating in a sense. Sometimes having too much just makes me antsy.
