Oh the additions. Those were both a blessing and a curse. It was awesome but if you got one wrong, it was the suck. Plus i had alot of trouble getting several of them to work. (Albert's Gust of Wind Dance comes to mind. RAH!)
One thing i love about that game is that the one you least suspect is actually the best freaking character in the game! (Meru) I mean SHE SPAMMMMMMMSS!!!!! Get her "Cool Boogie" addition completed and you get 200 SP in one turn! NO LIE! Thats without any SP boosters! Yikes!! I hardly ever use everyones favorites (Albert and Kongol) and use the characters people ignore (Haschel, Meru, Miranda) and of course Rose because Rose rocks the socks.

LoD is brilliant. I think the translation could use work. Big time, but thats like the only flaw the game has. The art design/character design/world design is so unique. There hasnt been a game to use that sort of style before or since. Sure the characters themselves fall into the general RPG Tropes and cliches but hey, what game doesnt? I think its the unique design and the Dragoons themselves that make that game so great. Plus its long.

First Question: Depends on Gandalf. If hes Gandalf the Grey, Dumbledore would mop the floor with him. If hes Gandalf the White, Dumbledore doesnt stand a chance.
Second Question: Pratchett wrote the Diskworld series. I havent read any of it yet aside from snippits and seeing a movie called Hogfather (based off one of his books). British writer who writes with british humor in a more fantasy setting.

I got really big into LotR when the movies came out. I dont have the extended versions though. Ive seen em though. Thats a great series. Im actually aiming to read more Terry Pratchett though.

My favorite scene was when Harry chases down Snape after the initial Dumbledore ownage scene. In the book, Harry exclaims "FIGHT BACK, YOU COWARD!!!" since Snape wasnt attacking back. Snape then turns and screams "DO NOT CALL ME A COWARD!" they didnt have that bit in the movie. It really upset me because thats kind of important especially to Snape's character. D:

I liked the movies but of course the books are better. The latest HP movie was a little disappointing since one of my favorite scenes was a bit chopped up but hey...whaddaya gonna do? I hope the DH movie(s) are left mostly unchanged.
