Personally, I'm a pretty conservative guy and I'm trying to get into the military. My brother is in the military. I have a cousin and a friend in the miltiary. They all acknowledge that they have tons of stuff they never use. It's one thing to use money to support our troops, but entirely another thing to use it to buy things that they don't use ... or things they have too much of already. Not long ago, the navy received a research boat from earmarked spending. They didn't need it, so they donated it to the Coast Guard. The Coast Guard didn't need it, so they donated it to the University of Washington. The UW doesn't need it. It is sitting in Puget Sound doing absolutely nothing.

Spending needs to be monitored on the stuff we have, obviously, and yet we're trying to do a bill that costs around $850,000,000,000? This is absolutely goddamn insane. Gerbils know better than our government.
