It would be awesome to just
think what hairstyle, facial hair, etc.. you want and poof! It will be so! I predict that in the future, all you have to do is step on a pad in your room (that's in front of a TV screen) and just think what you want to wear for the day and the matterials will just teleport around your body. And if you have a credit card, you can purchase clothes from an online store and quickly zap them onto your body. I'm sure the computer could also give you advice of what would be most fashionable in comparison to what you already own (and if you've got the cash, what you
could own), what others in your community (like classmates, friends, co-workers, etc..) are wearing, and to look a head for weather forecasts. This way you'd have your own personal designer, and nobody would wear the same thing (unless you want to look similar). Now I'm no "fashionista", I was just thinking "God can look like whomever he wants to, so what's an invention that could be similar to that?"
ANOTHER RANDOM THOUGHT: Ok, I was thinking about space exploration the other day, and you know how cosmic rays can penetrate through our space shuttles and go through the astronaughts bodies (destroying their DNA and can eventually give them various forms of cancer)? Well I've thought of a (expensive) solution.
Plan A: Create a magnetic shield that protects the whole ship from cosmic rays and debris. And create an artificial gravity machine. If a shield that large isn't possible then...
Plan B:
Step 1. Create a brain-to-robot interface so that astronaughts can just think of what to make their robots do (if you haven't seen the trailer for
Surrogates, that's what I'm talking about)
Step 2. Place the astronaughts in the center of the space shuttle where they will be protected my some sort of magnetic shield. While they are in the center, they will be able to control their robot counterparts and continue work as usual.
The only downside I see to Plan B would be that the astronaughts would still need to excersize in space. Sure they could have an artificial gravity machine like in Plan A, but that would just make their bodies accustomed to the new environment, but excersize is still important.
