Twilight Princess and The Wind Waker seem to seperate the first two SNES games and A Link to the Past from each other (adult time lost the Master Sword, child timeline left it in a grove; first two SNES games have no Master Sword, A Link to the Past has it in a grove).
It was confirmed that nothing but The Minish Cap could possibily come before Ocarina of Time by the creators. Ocarina of Time was developed as the very first game, they said. The first, and and they stand by what they said. The Minish Cap seems to have the possibility of coming before it. No other games do.
I have seen the map comparison for upper right Advetnure of Link overworld and the Phantom Hourglass overworld- 100% the same place. Maze Island is also in the upper right corner of both of them and bigger in The Advetnure of Link, echoing how the islands get bigger and connect. They sailed north of old Hyrule to find the Phantom Hourglass overworld, upper right of The Advetnure of Link overworld is north of the old Hyrule. There are also mor Hylians in the north and humans in the south of The Advetnure of overworld, echoing how humans stayed where old Hyrule is in The Wind Waker and Hylians sailed north, explaining Hylians being in the north in The Advetnure of Link and humans in the south where old Hyrule is.
Twilight Princess directly connected Ocarina of Time to Twilight Princess and bridged between them, while both The Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass show the Sages that towns are name after becoming famous, explaining how the towns were named: they became famous, and Link who went to find the next Hyrule saw that.
It was confirmed less than a year ago by Aonuma that the towns in The Advetnure of Link are named after the Sages as part of a psedo-secret that players might notice in the storyline, and he said Ocarina of Time explains how the towns were named in the story. This was less than a year ago, and he developed the games that show the Sages becoming famous.
The developers note how references in Zelda games are secrets for the player to notice how the games connected and that they are timeline indicators connecting the games. A Link to the Past's backstory was changed not to include Ganon, but match up with an event that was mentioned in Twilight Princess, the game that foreshadows A Link to the Past.
The Advetnure of Link also refers to the time when Hyrule was one country (a vauge reference to The Wind Waker) and when it was unified (a reference to Ocarina of Time, the game that saw Hyrule unified shortly before the game).
In The Advetnure of Link, Hyrule is in a bad state and not very unified. It was unfied shortly before Ocarina of Time and The Advetnure of Link's backstory mentions that. The only thing that could stop the country being unified would be a flood (how Hyrule was once one country), which would sepperate the land and people of Hyrule.
The first two SNES games show the Hyrule shoreline and it surrounded by water, and The Advetnure of Link shows islands and water everywhere, it it shows Maze Island (it even appeared in Phantom Hourglass as slowly expanding) trying to connected with another island, an echo the what the Deku Tree said in The Wind Waker: connect the islands.
There can only be one Zelda in one time period at a time, as there can only be one princess of Hyrule in each game.
The Legend of Zelda and The Advetnure of Link were always indirect sequels to Ocarina of Time, and Ocarina of Time was developer as their prequel.
If you look at recent instalments, those two games a getting lots of post-The Wind Waker connections. For a start- the Phantom Hourglass overworld is part of The Advetnure of Link overworld (more water, however). It even shows small Maze Island in the upper right corner, while The Advetnure of Link has big Maze Island in the upper right corner, sowing the expansion of land and connectecting islands, as the Deku Tree explain.
The Legend of Zelda The Adventure of Link hae been referenced by The Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass, post-flood games. The Advetnure of Link has a very watery Hyrule and islands, too. It even appears that the land in The Advetnure of Link could be expanding land and declining water. The towns in the overworld are named after the Sages who became famous in the adult timeline (and this was shown in The Wind Waker), and Aonuma confirmed that the towns are named after them in the story just last year.
The Oracles can't come inbetween A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening, as Link knows Zelda and Ganon in A Link to the Past, but he doesn't even know who they are in the Oracles and actually... meets them. In Link's Awakwning, he knows them, so the placment is debatable for Link's Awakening. If the Oracles had the same Zelda and Link from A Link to the Past, they would be set before A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening after it.
The Sleeping Zelda in The Advetnure of Link is not the same Zelda from The Legend of Zelda- she was sleeping for centuries. The sleeping Zelda story is a backstory that predates most things, but the game itself happens after Ocarina of Time.
